FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (5/28/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

luka doncic NBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball advice

Stan Son highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 5/28/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We've got a three-game playoff slate for Friday. The Knicks and Hawks start at 7:00 pm ET. The Nets and Celtics tip off at 8:30 pm ET while the Clippers and Mavericks play at 9:30 pm ET. The NY/ATL series is tied at 1-1 while BKN and DAL lead 2-0. ATL is favored by 4 points, BKN is favored by 7.5 points, and LAC is favored by 2 points. The O/U is 211 for the NYK/ATL game, 227.5 for the BKN/BOS game, and 219.5 for the LAC/DAL game.

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/28/21. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks. Keep an eye on Rotoballer’s injury news to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Luka Doncic, PG - vs. LAC ($10,500)

Doncic has played 38 and 41 minutes while attempting 29 and 24 shots in the first two games of the series with the Clippers. The usage rate has been 48% and 35%. Those numbers alone would have me pressing the lock button but there's more. He's scored over 30 points in each game and has literally stuffed the stat sheet, contributing in every category. Doncic is a threat to triple-double on any given night and the Clippers have no answer for him defensively. Even if they blitz him on offense and force the ball out of his hands, he will still rack up assists and contribute in the other categories. HalleLuka indeed!

Derrick Rose, PG - at ATL ($6,500)

Rose has played 39 and 38 minutes in the first two games of the series with the Hawks. The usage rate has been 27% and 24% while he's attempted 21 and 16 shot attempts. He's also contributed at least four rebounds and four assists in each game. He's not starting but he's playing most of the point guard minutes and Thibodeau is going to continue leaning on his vet.

Paul George, SG - at DAL ($8,800)

George has played 41 and 40 minutes in the first two games of the series with the Mavericks, contributing 37.7 and 52.4 FD points. The usage rate has been 28% in both games. With the Clippers down 2-0, another 40 minutes is likely. On the season, George averaged 1.2 FD points per minute. I did initially have James Harden written up, but I think George can match Harden's output at $2,000 cheaper.

Terance Mann, SG - at DAL ($3,700)

Mann didn't play in Game 1 but provided a jolt of energy in Game 2 with eight points and five rebounds in 15 minutes. Coach Ty Lue intimated after Game 2 that Mann could get more minutes. He talked about his speed, ability to switch on defense, rebound, and attack on offense. With the Clippers down 2-0, changes need to be made and Mann could be in line for a minutes boost.

Also consider: Trae Young ($9,000), James Harden ($10,800), Kevin Huerter ($5,300), Alec Burks ($5,500)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Kawhi Leonard, SF - at DAL ($10,000)

Kawhi has played 41 minutes in each of the first two games of the series with the Mavericks while attempting 21 and 22 shots and garnering a usage rate of 30%. He scored 41 real points in Game 2 and has put up 57.5 and 58.2 FD points. It's win or be in a heap of trouble for the Clippers so Kawhi is going to play a ton of minutes and be heavily involved to produce those fantasy goodies.

Evan Fournier, SF - vs. BKN ($5,500)

With Kevin Durant neutralizing Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker questionable to play, Fournier is going to have to step up if the Celtics don't want to get swept in their series with the Nets. He does have the ability to light up the scoreboard as he has a 30-point game as a member of the Celtics and has gone for over 40 FD points in two games.

Jayson Tatum, PF - vs. BKN ($9,800)

So far in this series, Tatum has shot 6-for-20 and 3-for-12 from the field. Kevin Durant gets a ton of credit because he's been matched up against him. Tatum is too good of a player to be held down forever, though. He can score in a multitude of ways and has a deep offensive bag. I expect him to bounce back in a big way today.

Maxi Kleber, PF - vs. LAC ($4,800)

Kleber is questionable for today but he had a similar designation for Games 1 and 2. He ended up playing 36 and 34 minutes so I'm going to assume the same thing for today. He put up 22.8 and 22.3 FD points in those two games and should score in the 20s again as he averages 0.68 FD points per minute.

Also consider: Kevin Durant ($10,400), De'Andre Hunter ($4,700), Julius Randle ($9,400), Kristaps Porzingis ($7,500)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Clint Capela, C - vs. NY ($8,300)

The options at center aren't so great today so Capela it is. He's played 36 and 34 minutes in the first two games of the series and contributed 30.6 and 35.4 FD points respectively. He's going to block shots and grab double-digit rebounds on the regular so the floor is relatively high. If he scores points, then ceiling games are activated.

Taj Gibson, C - at ATL ($5,000)

Gibson has played 24 and 30 minutes the last two games, contributing 24.8 and 27.9 FD points. Now, Nerlens Noel has been a little banged up with a sore ankle so 30 minutes may not be in the cards. That said, it does look like the center minutes will at least be split down the middle since this is playoff time and Thibs has also had an affinity for Gibson.
