FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (5/12/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Stan Son highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 5/12/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We've got a six-game slate for Wednesday. Four teams (BOS, BKN, DAL, and LAL) are playing the second leg of a back-to-back.

There is one game at 7:00 pm WAS @ ATL), two games at 8:00 pm (BOS @ CLE, SA @ BKN), one game at 9:00 pm (NO @ DAL), one game at 9:30 pm (POR @ UTA), and the late-night hammer at 10:30 pm is HOU @ LAL.

FanDuel DFS Guards


Russell Westbrook, PG - at ATL ($12,600)

Westbrook is $20,000? I don't care. I'm playing him so $12,600 is a bargain. I'm kidding but kind of not. Over the last five games, he's played at least 40 minutes and gone for at least 70 FD points in four of those contests. I usually look at pace and matchups, but I didn't even bother. He's going to triple-double and the question is just a matter of how many FD points he will score. I guess there is a slight risk in him being less aggressive now that he's got the regular-season triple-double record. There's also a risk that I lose money in bitcoin. I don't have any bitcoin.

DJ Augustin, PG - at LAL ($3,900) 

The Rockets have six players listed as out today with three others questionable. Over the last three games, Augustin has played 28, 18, and 25 minutes, contributing 23.9, 5.5, and 24.4 FD points. He only played 18 minutes in that one game because it was the second leg of a back-to-back.

Jordan Clarkson, SG - vs. POR ($7,600)

Over the last four games, Clarkson has gone for 42.2, 44, 32.6, and 51.6 FD points. The usage rate was 33, 27, 31, and 44! Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell have been out. Well, they are out for this one as well so Clarkson should get all the opportunities he can handle. Portland is 29th in defensive efficiency.

Talen Horton-Tucker, SG - vs. HOU ($3,600)

THT hasn't been great this season but when he's on the court, he garners a high usage rate of 21. He often navigates pick and roll action. He is very good at driving to the basket and racks up steals. Alex Caruso was playing point guard but he has been ruled out. THT could slide into that role and see an increase in playing time. In three starts this season, he's averaged 29.4 minutes, compared to the 19.1 off the bench.

Also consider: Trae Young ($8,500), Raul Neto ($4,800), DeMar DeRozan ($7,900), Lonnie Walker ($4,300)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Kevin Durant, SF - vs. SA ($10,700)

He's back, baby! Over the last five games, he's played 31, 40, 35, 40, and 39 minutes, contributing 47.8, 63.7, 39.3, 57.8, and 55 FD points. James Harden could return back to action, which could soak some usage away, but I'm not worried because Durant is going to get his.

Joe Harris, SF - vs. SA ($3,700)

Harris has played 33, 33, 33, and 35 minutes over the last four games. Minutes are half the battle. Yo, Joe! He is primarily a three-point specialist, as he's attempted four, six, eight, and five from downtown, but he will grab some rebounds as well.

Anthony Davis, PF - vs. HOU ($10,800)

He's back, baby! This makes my season-long self very sad. Oh, what could have been. Regardless, over the last two games, Davis has played 40 and 39 minutes, producing 78.0 and 57.9 FD points. The Rockets play at the 7th-fastest pace and are 26th in defensive efficiency.

James Johnson, PF - at DAL ($4,700)

Zion Williamson is out again, so Johnson will make his fourth straight start. In the prior three games, Johnson produced 21.3, 33.6, and 31.9 FD points.

Also consider: Jayson Tatum ($9,500), Jaxson Hayes ($5,700), Bogdan Bogdanovic ($7,300),

 

FanDuel DFS Centers

Kelly Olynyk, C - at LAL ($8,300)

Olynyk is the highest-priced center on the slate. What a time to be alive. That said, it's been warranted as he's put up 42.6, 52.9, and 63.2 FD points in the last three games. In the six games prior to that, he scored at least 40 FD points in five with a high o 50.6. With all of the injuries on the Rockets, Olynyk has garnered a usage rate in the 24-26 range.

Tristan Thompson, C - at CLE ($4,800)

Robert Williams is dealing with an injury so Thompson could get the start. That may not mean much because he's not an offensive threat and relies on rebounds and defensive stats to produce value. That said, he has played 28, 31, and 26 minutes the last three games and the Cavaliers boost the FPPM to centers by 14.01% above league average, the most generous in the league.

Also consider: Clint Capela ($7,600)
