FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (3/14/19): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Jake Finnen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 3/14/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

With a six game slate that's stacked at the small forward position, you'll need to pick and choose the right matchup and hope it works out. With LeBron James playing an Eastern Conference contender, Kawhi Leonard playing against the team many thought he would playing for this season, and Paul George heading back to Indiana to play the Pacers, there are narratives here and I'd put my money on George first, then Leonard. Nothing against James, just can't trust the Lakers anymore. There is nothing consistent about them and even James stats are struggling because his teammates can't score the basketball.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 3/14/19. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Jeremy Lin - PG, TOR vs. LAL (FD - $3,500)

Most players will be looking at D.J. Augustin tonight and rightfully so. He has the upside based on the matchup and since he's been the starter for some time, there's no real downside. The only aspect I don't like is his price. That's why I am pivoting to Jeremy Lin. He facing the Lakers which, right off the bat, already boosts his overall upside and since we are in the slowest part of the season, it makes sense the backups would get more minutes against a bad, out-of-conference team.

Jordan Clarkson - SG, CLE @ ORL (FD - $5,200)

Not that playing in Orlando is intimidating, but playing on the road absolutely affects how well some players play. Since the Cavaliers are still somewhat rocky in terms of team-makeup, it's safe to bet on Jordan Clarkson tonight. He's been getting consistent minutes and he is scoring in every game. Outside of the last game versus the Magic, which is actually an incredibly convenient coincidence, Clarkson has taken well over ten shots in his most previous outings.

In that Orlando game, Clarkson took nine shots, scoring 18 points. The Cavaliers won and Clarkson was a big part of that, which makes me believe that the tonight's outcome will be similar and Cleveland will try to go through the players that had success last time.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Gordon Hayward - SF, SAC @ BOS (FD - $4,900)

I really never give Gordon Hayward the benefit of the doubt, but since the Kings won't just get rolled over and Hayward isn't terrible at basketball, I like his situation tonight. Off the bench he should have his work cut out for him because despite the improvements the Kings have made, their defense is still more than capable of letting up big games. Hayward has had a few of those throughout the season and they haven't been consistent, but they have been against teams that don't have a strong backcourt defensive presence. To make this pick any more of a guarantee, the Kings rank 28th against opposing small forwards so you should be able to pair up Hayward and a top-tier stud.

Derrick Favors - PF, UTA vs MIN (FD - $6,400)

While Karl-Anthony Towns has been on a tear recently, so has Derrick Favors. In the losses to Memphis and Oklahoma City, he played the fewest minutes and took the fewest amount of shots. Since the Jazz handily lost both of those games, chances are the will resort back to giving Favors a high-usage game against the Timberwolves. Minnesota's frontcourt lacks the strength to keep someone like Favors out of the paint and even if he does struggle on the defensive end, Favors has too much upside tonight. Taj Gibson might be his biggest competition and based on that, Favors is set for another 20-10 night.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Marc Gasol - C, TOR vs. LAL (FD - $6,500)

Marc Gasol's price is a tad high given that he has been inconsistently starting, not to mention the fact that the Raptors seem to not know what they are doing with him. He hasn't been terribly efficient since joining Toronto, but he also hasn't been put in many positions to succeed. When he is able to find some type of groove with this offense, he meshes well and they look like a scary team. It's just when he doesn't, he flops in horrendous fashion, especially since his price tag is so high for what he has produced lately. I'm confident he is productive and efficient tonight against the Lakers, mainly because Gasol needs a rebound game versus this type of frontcourt.

Since the Lakers defense is just a clusterbomb of bad defensive assignments and sub-par communication, this is the type of game where Gasol feasts. Since he is a playmaker first, then a shooter, wait for Gasol to find his groove through a few highlight passes, then once they leave him open, he'll pull the trigger.
