FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/28/19): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Jake Finnen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 2/28/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

There was a spectacular 11-game slate last night and tonight we are followed up with just six games. There might not be the same type of upside, but they will be competitive games nonetheless. I don't think the Magic will come out of this game victorious, but I wouldn't fade them simply for blowout purposes. They do have the versatility of Jonathan Isaac and Nikola Vucevic in the frontcourt, so expect all the production to start with them and work into Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier's game.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/28/19. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

Make sure you don't set your lineups too early. Be sure to check all the NBA starting lineups and player statuses and availability prior to opening tip. Find me in the NBA Chat Room or @HalfCourtJester on Twitter. Honestly, I'm still pretty obsessed with Apex Legends so feel free to join me on Xbox and ask questions there as well. It's playoffs, so don't hesitate to reach out.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Goran Dragic - PG, MIA @ HOU (FD - $4,100)

Make sure that he is actually going to play because I do worry about the Heat coaching staff limiting him on back-to-backs. If he gets clearance to play again tonight, you already know what I am going to say. I've been saying it for the past month, when Dragic returns, he will produce. His first two games were expected, but I can't imagine many DFS players were expecting a 27 point explosion this quick into his return. Well, you know my stance and it hasn't changed. Dragic is back and is already doing Dragic-like things.

Terrence Ross - SG, ORL vs. GSW (FD - $5,300)

This might seem like the game that Terrence Ross would not post a ridiculous stat line, but I have hope seeing how the Warriors just had a tough loss to the Heat last night. The Magic are not the most feared competitors but they do have the ability to give the Warriors a run for the money on any given night. It will take a strong, group effort, but it is more than possible. Like stated earlier, it's going to start in the frontcourt and the spacing will eventually players like Ross get to his spots.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Gary Harris - SF, DEN vs UTA (FD - $4,600)

This is risky because Gary Harris is still returning from an injury, but there is just so much upside when he plays. His attention to defense increases his upside because he is able to rack up so many steals, but he also is an elite three-point shooter on a team that runs it's offense around the shooters. I wanted to point out tonight's game specifically because they are playing the Jazz, a notoriously good defense. Even though that might seem like the opposite of what you want, the pace of the game should be slower and work in Harris' hands. If he is working his way back into the rotation, the chances he goes all-in for transition points this quick in his return seems unlikely. Instead, Harris should play the role of catch-and-shoot artist who does minimal off-ball movement so he can make quick and easy extra passes. All in all, production is in store for Harris, just make sure there are no changes to his status beforehand.

Thaddeus Young - PF, IND vs MIN (FD - $6,700)

Initially I was thinking of going with Dario Saric, but then I thought of who he would be lined up against and it changed everything. Thaddeus Young has been incredibly consistent in regards to contributing to the box score every game and there's only so much that can be said about how he has played this season. He is dominating in the games he should be, and sacrificing stats for the betterment of the team in the games the Pacers should win. Yes, Indiana isn't some flawless team and have had some setbacks, but Young has a been a bright spot for a team that needed to replace consistency immediately. The Timberwolves are just all over the place and I can't see their frontcourt playing well against this defense.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Kevon Looney - C, GS @ ORL (FD - $3,500)

This is a bold pick, but I can't imagine either Isaac or Vucevic really forcing Looney out of the paint. Despite not having the best touch, Looney plays with a certain toughness that allows him to get rebounds against anyone and luckily his team will reward him when necessary. Looking forward, Looney doesn't have much upside but since there are so many little narratives going into this game, I'm not going to overthink it. The Magic frontcourt might be improving defensively, but basketball is still about size and Looney is one of those heavy-set rebounders who you don't want to engage with in the post. He doesn't put together strong box score performances, but he has the potential to and tonight should be one of those nights for him.
