FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (12/8/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

John Brubaker highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 12/8/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Happy Wednesday, RotoBallers, and welcome to December! I hope this week of NBA DFS has treated you well. I'm continuing to work on my NBA model, trying to gather more information to make sure all of you are as armed as possible going into each slate. Even with the small adjustments I've made so far, it seems to be working. I'm trying to implement different factors to separate cash options against GPP options. I'll continue to keep you all updated with the adjustments I make, and with all of that said, let's get to tonight!

Tonight we have a big slate, with 13 games on tap. With FanDuel adding multi-position eligibility players, we'll have to attack slates a bit differently to make our lineups as optimal as possible. That's where I come in! I'll look to find my personal top plays and values for tonight's slate. Things can change during the day as well, so I'll do my best to update as news comes out!

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 12/8/21. You can also check out today's DraftKings NBA DFS lineup picks. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s injury news to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Malcolm Brogdon, PG/SG - vs NY ($7,400)

I wrote up Brogdon last week and he delivered with a massive 56.7 point performance. He's averaging 37.66 FanDuel points in his last four games, and tonight I have him projected at 40.39 FanDuel points. He gets a strong matchup against the Knicks who rank 22nd in point guard efficiency and are on a back-to-back, so I expect Brogdon and the Pacers to come out with some fire to take down New York.

Spencer Dinwiddie, PG - at DET ($5,400)

I wrote up Dinwiddie last week as well, and while he didn't perform as well as Brogdon, he had a respectable 25.7 FanDuel point performance. I have him projected at 29.75 FanDuel points tonight, coming in at 5.51x value. He has the best matchup of any point guard on the slate against the Pistons, who come in 27th in point guard efficiency. I still don't trust him in cash, but I think he's a viable GPP play as I don't anticipate him being high-owned.

Cody Martin, SG/PG - vs PHI ($5,000)

Cody Martin was the chalk of the night on Monday, and he'll likely be again tonight. He had a disappointing showing on Monday, scoring just 23.2 FanDuel points. He draws a chance for revenge tonight against Philly on the second half of a home-and-home, and my early projections have him at 28.1 FanDuel points. Philly is tough against point guards, ranking tenth in efficiency, but with LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier and Ish Smith all out, the value is too good here.

Also consider: Tyrese Haliburton ($6,200), Patty Mills ($4,900)

FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Kelly Oubre, SF/SG - vs PHI ($6,800)

Another Hornet that will likely be chalk, Oubre has really stepped it up for Charlotte over the last two games. He had a 59.5 FanDuel point performance on Monday night against the Sixers, and while I don't expect a repeat performance, I do think he's optimal on tonight's slate. I have Oubre projected for 42.3 FanDuel points, coming in at over 6x value. Oubre is in the same situation as Martin, as the Sixers are tough against guards/small forwards in general. However, his usage should be through the roof and if his previous performances are any indicator, Oubre is in for a big night.

LaMarcus Aldridge, PF/C - at HOU ($5,600)

Aldridge has been playing fairly well of late, averaging 26 FanDuel points over his last four games. He gets a solid matchup against the Rockets tonight, who rank 27th in efficiency rating against centers. His minutes will be a direct factor of his fantasy output tonight, and as of right now I have him projected for 28 minutes. He only played 23 minutes in last night's matchup against Dallas, so he should get some decent run tonight. As of now, I have him projected for 32.44 FanDuel points, good for 5.79 value.

Chris Duarte, SF - vs NY ($4,800)

The second Pacer I'm looking at is Chris Duarte, who's taken a step back with the emergence of Caris LeVert in the Pacers' lineup. Duarte's price has dropped accordingly though, making him a solid leverage/GPP play. While he has a decently-tough matchup tonight against the Knicks, who rank 12th in small forward efficiency, my early projections have slated for 27.08 FanDuel points, good for 5.64 value. I really like him in GPPs tonight, but I would avoid him in cash.

Also consider: Caris LeVert ($5,100), Aaron Gordon ($5,600)

FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Myles Turner, C/PF - vs NY ($6,300)

Rounding out the article as far as Pacers go is Myles Turner. Turner hasn't had a great last couple of games, averaging just 27.75 FanDuel points relative to his 32.3 point mark for the season. However, as I mentioned with Brogdon, the Knicks are on a back-to-back, so we could expect to see some tired legs. The Knicks rank 17th in efficiency rating against centers, and my early projections have him at 33.37 FanDuel points, good for 5.3x value.

Wendell Carter Jr., C/PF - vs SAC ($6,500)

I don't know what I'm going to do when the Magic don't play on a Wednesday or Friday. I love Wendell Carter, and FanDuel hasn't budged on his pricing one bit. Carter is averaging 33.01 FanDuel points over his last three games, and now gets the best matchup of all players tonight against the Kings who come in at 30th in center efficiency. My early projections have carter at 35.38 FanDuel points, good for 5.44x value. I'm comfortable with playing Carter in cash if I want to pay up for a stud at another position.

Also consider: Montrezl Harrell ($5,500), Jusef Nurkic ($6,300)
