FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/9/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Only four games on tonights slate and precision is a must. Prices and value won't matter as much, so we need to roster the top sources of production if we want to cash out. The big story surrounding tonight is Russell Westbrook's return to Oklahoma City. Even though this is the second night of a back-to-back, Westbrook didn't play last night against the Hawks and getting rest could mean big things for tonight's game.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/9/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Kemba Walker - PG, BOS @ PHI ($7,100)

This is based purely on his incredibly low, given his upside, price tag. The 76ers backcourt defense is nothing without the frontcourt presence they have, so while on paper they may rank second and cause a few unsure DFS'ers to scatter away from Walker, this is the type of matchup he thrives in. The 76ers are going to want to focus on the more noticeable threats in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, so look for Walker to have his chances, he just needs to make the most of them.

Shabazz Napier- PG, MIN vs. POR ($4,900)

Jeff Teague has also returned to the rotation so it's understandable why Shabazz Napier saw such a significant price decrease. Even though he has the potential to see a few extra minutes if they don't want to rush Teague back, his last game was a disgrace compared to some of the stat lines he has been posting, so take note of that. The Timberwolves were bested by a young Grizzlies squad and Napier failed to really get anything going, luckily that can be said for most of Minnesota's team, so the upside and momentum hasn't really changed since basically the last player on the Timberwolves to have momentum was Napier playing against Cleveland.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

James Ennis III - SF, PHI vs. BOS ($3,500)

Looking over some of the value plays for tonight, James Ennis seems to be in the perfect position to break some lineups. Even if the stats won't back up the claim, this seems to be the type of game that Ennis always comes through on. Not many games tonight so you take a flier on some bench player, all while Ennis was staring you in the face all night, you just didn't want to fall subject to wasting the pick, something that is common when selecting Ennis.

Regardless, you will need to accept some risk tonight and despite the defenses wanting to take over this game, organization within this contest should fall apart quickly, allowing Ennis to be the hero the 76ers never really knew they needed until he finally starts hitting his shots against a sworn rival.

Al Horford - PF, BOS @  PHI ($5,400)

Some fairly pathetic options at power forward tonight, so if you aren't going with Kevin Love, Jayson Tatum, or Robert Covington, it means you went with Al Horford for the price. He is always going to be capable of posting big games, especially against his former team, so there isn't a defense that is going to keep me from playing him when the price is right.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Gorgui Dieng- C, MIN vs. POR ($5,600)

The Trail Blazers ranked 23rd against opposing power forwards and there has not been a power forward listed tonight that has been posting the same value Gorgui Dieng has. I've said before in previous articles, until Karl-Anthony Towns returns and literally takes the minutes from Dieng, he needs to be played, at the very least considered on a nightly basis. His upside tonight is undeniable and even with Portland coming off a big win, he is the exact type of player that can shut a surging team down with consistent defense and even most consistent mid-range scoring.
