FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/10/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Trae Young - Atlanta Hawks

Austyn Varney highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/10/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Welcome to NBA Friday night. We have ten games on the board tonight with a ton of different options to pay up for. We're looking at Anthony Davis being questionable and a ton of other injuries to pay attention to. There is value to pay down for, but we have to get it perfect in tournaments if we wan to take down some serious cash.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/10/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

Give me a follow on Twitter @DFSVarney and say hello. Good luck RotoBallers, let's dive right in!

FanDuel DFS Guards

Trae Young - PG, ATL @ WAS ($10,000)

You have to love this fast-paced match-up for Trae Young with a Wizards team that doesn't play much defense at all. With Brad Beal out of the lineup, Ish Smith, Isaiah Thomas, Jordan McRae, and Gary Payton will get the guard minutes. Payton is a solid young defender, but he takes too many chances and hovers off the ball too often to cover Trae Young. You can also consider paying up for Luka Doncic, though the upside on Young is just as high. The Wizards play at a top-five pace in basketball and Young is shooting the ball as much as anyone in basketball right now. He's also going to have success on the PNR with John Collins, and I wouldn't be surprised to see another triple-double or close to one. Young is my favorite option at point guard with price considered.

Jordan McRae - SG, WAS vs. ATL ($6,100)

First of all, make sure Brad Beal is out. McRae has been up and down with Beal out, but I like this match-up with the Hawks for him to get back to a good game. He's been over 45 fantasy points in two of the last four games, so the upside is obviously there. The Hawks will play at the same pace as Washington and this game is going to be incredibly high-scoring. Without Beal in the lineup, there is nobody that demands shots on this team. McRae has taken the freedom and run with it, shooting over 80 times in the last four games. The price has risen and my hope is it keeps a few guys off of McRae and his ownership somewhat low. Make sure Beal is out before you do anything.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

LeBron James - SF, LAL @ DAL ($10,700)

I'm a fan of LeBron either way tonight, but he jumps into a whole different category if the questionable Anthony Davis sits. At just over $10k, the price on LeBron isn't crazy and the match-up with a Mavs team that plays fast is a great one. The Mavs are also still without Kristaps Porzingis, so LeBron won't have much rim protection to worry about. I also get a sense that LeBron is not going to lie down to Doncic over the next few years. Anyone with a brain can see he's the next best player and you know LeBron wants to show him what's up before passing the reigns. I expect a big game here out of LeBron James, no matter who plays.

Thad Young - PF, CHI vs. IND ($5,400)

Wendell Carter Jr. is going to miss a few weeks, so we're going to get a bunch of Thaddeus Young for the next month. Young is a guy you can target in the right match-up, as the Bulls will play small some with Carter out. That won't be the case against a Pacers team that's very likely without their big man Domantas Sabonis. Young will get around 30 minutes in this game whether Sabonis plays or not, as he gives the Bulls a much-needed distributor that can also play in the middle. The Pacers play pretty quick and I like Thad Young posting another 25-30 fantasy points while spreading it around on the stat sheet.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Bobby Portis - C, NY vs. NO ($4,400)

Bobby Portis was phenomenal against the Jazz without Julius Randle, scoring 13 points with 13 rebounds and six assists. He now draws a match-up with the terrible Pelicans defense and Julius Randle will remain out. I absolutely love this value on Bobby Portis and will have him in nearly every lineup of mine. The Pelicans don't play defense in the paint and Portis is a crafty big man that has posted 45+ fantasy points numerous times in the past. Portis is my favorite value on the slate at this point and it's not close.
