FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (8/6/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Austyn Varney highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 8/6/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

With 14 games on the docket, there is plenty to look through. At pitcher, we have five aces to choose from and Zack Greinke making his first start as an Astro. We then have six offenses projected to put up five or more runs, with a few games still unreleased. it's a great tournament slate with a ton of offenses in good spots. Let's jump in and find the top play at each position!

The Supreme Squeeze on FanDuel will payout $100k to first place with a $300k prize pool, all for just $6 an entry. If you're more of a high roller, the Grand Slam and Monster are both huge on this slate. No matter the price point you're looking for, FanDuel has a tournament to fit your needs. Let's find some guy that will help you win them!

Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFSVarney

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Zack Wheeler - NYM vs. MIA - $10,700

While we have 14 games on the slate, there are not many pitchers you can trust. Kershaw and Berrios are the two most expensive, but they have tough match-ups and are a bit overpriced. We’ll instead focus on Zack Wheeler, who’s sporting a 3.77 xFIP and a 9.87 K/9 on the season. He now draws the Miami Marlins, who rank dead last against righties with a .281 wOBA and 25% combined strikeout rate. Wheeler has actually been unlucky this season and with an xFIP almost a full run lower than his ERA, he should have a strong second half. The Marlins will give him every chance in the world to dominate and the Mets have been allowing him to go just over 100 pitches. Wheeler is the safest option in cash games and a great SP1 across the board.

Zack Greinke - HOU vs. COL - $9,700

It’s very interesting to see what a ballpark can do a team. At home, the Rockies are one of the most dangerous teams in the league and average over two home runs per game. On the road, they rank 29th in front of just the Marlins. They sport a .284 team wOBA and strikeout 27.8% of the time. Greinke will make his first start with the Astros and it’ll be nice for him to get a consistent three or four runs of run support. Greinke is affordable on FanDuel and makes sense in all formats.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

C/1B - Joc Pederson - LOS vs. STL (Mikolas) - $3,100

First base is always a buffet of options, and tonight is no different with 14 games on the board. We’ll save a few dollars with Joc Pederson, who’s facing off with Miles Mikolas and the Cardinals. Mikolas is not a very good pitcher to begin with and his .359 wOBA (9 HR in 53 IP) allowed to lefties is a big reason why. The Dodgers are a top five offense vs righties and Pederson will be leading off per usual. He’s affordable on FD and has two home run upside while allowing you to pay up elsewhere.

2B - Keston Hiura - MIL @ PIT (Brault) - $3,200

It’s funny how fast ownership can change on a guy after just a few tough games. He’s still the same hitter he was a couple days ago, but the ownership will be under 10% and the match-up is solid. Steven Brault has been terrible against righties, allowing a .362 wOBA and 5.87 xFIP. he hasn't shown any signs of progression and this Brewers squad is hitting righties much better now. Hiura will be in the heart of the order and they're expected to put up 5.43 runs. He's priced down on FanDuel and makes sense in all formats.

3B - Eugenio Suarez - CIN vs. LAA (Suarez) - $3,600

Suarez should be on your radar anytime the Reds are facing off with a lefty. It's what he does best, sporting a .365 wOBA this season and a .398 dating back to last season. He's up to 29 home runs on the season and he's a much better hitter at home in Great American Ballpark. He'll face off with Jose Suarez, who has been pitiful against righties. Albeit a small sample size, he's allowed a .407 wOBA and a 2.88 HR/9. He's moving from Angels Stadium to Great American Ballpark, so it's not going to get any better for him. The Reds righties make a lot of sense as a stack that won't be very popular.

SS - Francisco Lindor - CLE vs. TEX (Jurado) - $4,200

We haven't touched on the Indians just yet, but they are one of the top offenses on this entire slate. Ariel Jurado does one thing well and that's giving up runs. Over his last ten starts, he's given up three or more earned runs in nine of them. He's sported a 4.69 xFIP, but it jumps way over five on the road. The Indians have been a top 10 offense over the last two months and Francisco Lindor is a big reason why. Against righties, he's held a .380 wOBA with 16 home runs and 17 doubles. Sprinkle in 11 stolen bases and you see why he's so dangerous. This entire Indians team is in play against one of the weaker starters in baseball.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Max Kepler - MIN vs. ATL (Foltynewicz) - $4,300

There are always a ton of outfielders to choose from, and tonight is no different. The Twins will host the Braves tonight and face off with Mike Foltynewicz, who's always struggled vs lefties. He's given up a .366 wOBA and eight home runs in just 27 innings of work. He now faces off with the most powerful lineup in baseball. Max Kepler has sported a .384 wOBA against righties with 24 home runs in under 300 at-bats. He's facing a homer prone righty and the price on FD is more than reasonable.

Shohei Ohtani - LAA @ CIN (DeSclafani) - $3,800

You can pay up for Trout, but Ohtani is going to rake DeSclafani in Great American Ballpark. Tony Disco has given up a .386 wOBA to lefties and 15 home runs in just 50 innings of work. He now draws the Angels, who'll move from an average park in Comerica to one of the best hitting environments in baseball. Ohtani has been great against righties, posting a .366 wOBA with 13 homers in under 200 plate appearances. He's simply too cheap on FanDuel and is a great option across the board.
