FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (8/30/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

We have an eight-game main slate to go over today, with plenty of pitching options to consider. There are a few high priced pitchers to take a look at today, but we are dealing with a balanced slate overall. Some of the betters offenses on tap today, so plenty of runs should be in future.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 8/30/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Justin Verlander - P, HOU vs LAA (FD - $11,200)

Verlander is the most expensive pitcher on the slate and comes in as a massive -220 favorite at home tonight. He is facing off against an Angels team who come in with a low 20.7% strikeout rate this season vs right-handed pitchers, but he has posted 17 strikeouts in his last two starts against them. Verlander comes in on a bit of rough stretch with giving up three or more earned runs in three of his last four starts, but he has allowed two or fewer earned runs in three of his four starts against the Angels this season.

J.A. Happ - P, NYY vs DET (FD - $10,100)

Happ should make an interesting option tonight since he is a bit cheaper compared to Verlander and has been more consistent as of late. He has eight or more strikeouts in three of his last four starts and is now facing off against the Tigers, who have a 20.5% strikeout rate vs LHP this season. This matchup is also very solid for Happ, as the Tigers have a very average .311 team wOBA and .143 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this season.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Mitch Moreland - 1B, BOS @ CWS (FD - $3,000)

Moreland seems a bit too cheap tonight, considering the fact you are getting exposure to the Red Sox offense, who are facing off against Lucas Giolito, who is giving up 1.34 HR/9 to lefties this season. Moreland has a .346 wOBA and a .228 ISO vs right-handed pitchers this season, which should make him chalky tonight.

Ronald Torreyes - 2B, NYY vs DET (FD - $2,200)

Torreyes is super cheap and gets you exposure to the Yankees offense, which is struggling a bit, but come in with an implied run total set at 5.8 tonight. He will likely hit near the bottom of the lineup but can be used in a wrap-around stack since he offers some savings.

Eduardo Nunez - 3B, BOS @ CWS (FD - $2,600)

Nunez has a seven-game hitting streak going right now and has home runs in two straight games. He is a bit too cheap today, considering the matchup he has vs Lucas Giolito, who is giving up 1.52 HR/9 to righties this season.

Trevor Story - SS, COL @ SDP (FD - $3,700)

This is a massive negative park shift for Story and the Rockies since they are away from Coors Field, but Story still has a .304 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this season. He has three multi-hit games over his last seven games and is up against Eric Lauer, who is giving up 1.32 HR/9 to righties this season.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Giancarlo Stanton - OF, NYY vs DET (FD - $4,500)

Stanton is struggling right now, with only one hit in his last four games, but in the ideal spot to turn that around. He comes in with a .443 wOBA and a .336 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this season. He is still searching for his 300th home run and using him as a one-off for that power is a great idea tonight.

Khris Davis - OF, OAK vs SEA (FD - $4,000)

Davis always has multi-home run upside, which makes him very appealing as a one-off in GPPs, especially since he plays in a west coast game, which generally carries lower ownership. He comes in with a .351 wOBA and a .264 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this season. Despite this being a big pitchers park, he has 19 of his 39 home runs while at home this season.
