FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (8/19/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Justin Bales highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 8/19/18, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

This set of games is broken down into two slates, with 10 games coming on the early, or main, slate. That is the slate we're going to be breaking down throughout this article.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 8/19/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Mike Clevinger - P, vs BAL ($9,000)

Clevinger has thrown well this season, recording an 8-7 record with a 3.38 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP through 24 starts. He threw a complete game shutout in his only matchup against the Baltimore Orioles, and they are an offense without much firepower throughout their lineup. Clevinger is a -270 favorite in a game set at 9 runs, and he can be used in all leagues.

Gio Gonzalez - P, vs MIA ($7,700)

Gonzalez is a player that has thrown well at home this season. Through 11 home starts, he owns a 4-3 record with a 3.45 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP. He has also found some success against the Miami Marlins in their matchups this season. Gonzalez is a -220 favorite in a game set at 9 runs today, and he's a solid option in all leagues for his current price tag.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Kyle Higashioka - C/1B, vs TOR ($2,000)

Higashioka has been struggling, but he owns a 50% extra-base hit rate this season. He can also be considered whenever he is facing left-handed pitching, as he owns 0.043 wOBA and 0.247 ISO differentials against lefties. Higashioka is also hitting in one of the best lineups in the MLB, and he could see plenty of RBI opportunities today. He's a great salary relief option.

Dilson Herrera - 2B, vs SF ($2,000)

Herrera is another salary relief option that has dominated left-handed pitching. He features 0.093 wOBA and 0.157 ISO differentials against lefties. He also owns 50% hard-hit and 62% fly ball rates with a 96 mph exit velocity over the last 15 days, although that number features limited games. Still, he's a great option for a low price tag.

Eugenio Suarez - 3B, vs SF ($3,500)

Suarez is an option that can always be considered against left-handed pitching. He owns a .691 slugging percentage and a .320 ISO against lefties, and he gets a good matchup against Andrew Suarez today. Eugenio Suarez can be used in all leagues on this slate.

Francisco Lindor - SS, vs BAL ($4,400)

Lindor has cooled down recently, but he's still hitting .256 with four extra-base hits, eight RBIs, and two steals over his last 10 games. He's also hitting .323 with a .601 slugging percentage and a .991 OPS at home this season. He gets a great matchup against Yefry Ramirez, and Lindor can be considered in all leagues.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Giancarlo Stanton - OF, vs TOR ($4,800)

Stanton has caught fire over his last 10 games, recording a .351 average with an .865 slugging percentage and a 1.307 OPS in those games. He has also posted nine extra-base hits (five home runs) and six RBIs over that span. He owns 0.156 wOBA and 0.166 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching, and Stanton can be used in all leagues.

Phillip Ervin - OF, vs SF ($2,400)

Ervin has been playing well recently, posting 43% hard-hit and fly ball rates with a 92 mph exit velocity over the last 15 days. He has also performed well against left-handed pitching, as he features 0.108 wOBA and 0.079 ISO differentials against righties. He's hitting fifth in the Reds lineup, and he makes an outstanding salary relief option tonight.
