FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/10/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Mark Strausberg highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 6/10/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Greetings RotoBallers! I have to say I am kind of excited about the Thursday slate of games. We have only half a dozen games on the slate tonight, but almost an equal number of viable pitching options. It also means we have about six pitchers we can easily throw some bats against in our lineup as well. The lowest projected run total tonight is the Rockies, who you will read later just how bad they have been. The highest projected run total is the Yankees, but the big bats on that team are a little too pricey for my tastes tonight.

So who do I like tonight? Read below to find, as I provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 6/10/2021. And if you want my thoughts on some of the earlier slate, please hit me on Twitter (@MarkStrausberg).

Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Trevor Rogers, MIA vs COL ($10,100)

Do you realize just how good Rogers has been this year? His 6-3 record doesn't say as much, but his impressive numbers start with his top-line numbers of a solid 3.64 ERA, a 10.62 k/9, and a 1.09 WHIP. His supporting stats are nearly too good, with a 0.39 HR/9 and a barrel percentage of 4.2%.

It doesn't hurt that his home stadium is LoanDepot Park, which certainly skews towards pitchers. But he's pitching there tonight and against a team who is particularly not good on the road, the Colorado Rockies. They are hitting .197 as a team on the road. They have the third-fewest total HRs.

Simply put, I agree with this tweet.

GPP Potential Alternate Play

Anthony DeSclafani, SFG @ WAS ($7,000)

Desclafani has bounced all over the place so much, they're thinking about using him as a replacement for Anthony Bourdain.

He was Three-Mile Island when he gave up ten earned runs on May 23rd but, he was a celebration bigger than Carnival when he pitched nine innings of no-run ball and struck out nine Rockies back in April. He has literally had at least one outing of fantasy point totals in six different decuple bands this year. That volatility makes him the perfect GPP play.

His recent 34-point performance is in the ballpark (pun intended) of what we should expect Thursday night. Rain is forecasted for this game, so maybe we shouldn't expect anything, but for our purposes, let's assume he plays. The good news is that "Disco" seems to be getting better, as he has his career lowest HR/FB rate (11.8) and career highest GB% (49.2). It helps explain his 1.11 WHIP and 3.59 ERA.

And the Nationals are pretty good about making contact (7th best AVG in the league), but are not exactly a power station. They have the fifth fewest HRs in the league. If Disco can pitch smart, he will do a lot more than just staying alive.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - 1B/3B TOR @ CWS ($4400)

We are going right to the top and putting Guerrero into our lineup tonight. I don't think I need to make a long argument for him, but even if we start a top pitching option tonight, we can still fit him into our lineups. In the matchup against Dallas Keuchel, I'll definitely take the guy batting .335 with 18 HRs.

Jed Lowrie - 2B/3B OAK vs KCR ($2700)

After spending up Vlad, we need to find a few bargains and I love the value that Lowrie provides. Lowrie has multiple hits in three of his last five games. Mike Minor and his 4.84 ERA hasn't really impressed me. Lowrie should absolutely hit value tonight.

Gio Urshela - 3B, NYY @ MIN ($2600)

We continue to look for bargain, and very quietly Urshela has an eight-game hitting streak in progress. I am aware that this is the third potential option I've suggested at third base, but the others we can place elsewhere. Urshela however will be my third baseman tonight as I really like the right-handed Urshela against the left-hander J.A. Happ and his 5.61 ERA.

Jazz Chisholm - SS/2B, MIA vs COL ($3300)

I feel like Chisholm was in and out my lineups to start the year. Yet recently I'm playing him in at least a few lineups every night. The fact that he's averaging over 11 FanDuel Fantasy points a night might have something to do with it! He is definitely one of my top choices so far for Rookie of the Year and I'm not alone.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Randal Grichuk - OF, TOR @ CWS ($2700)

If you are playing a stud SP like Rogers, you are going to still be forced to bargain hunt in the OF, but Grichuk is an absolute steal at this price. He's batting .276 with a dozen homers. That kind of production at this price is absolute larceny.

Michael Brantley - OF, HOU @ BOS ($2500)

One more bargain and this one is also a steal. The Astros have been on an absolute tear lately, and Brantley is currently hitting .304. He is coming off another strong game last night when he went 3-for-5 with a ribbie and a run scored. Let's not forget that Brantley hit .311 with 22 HRs in our last full season of 2019. At $2500, I'll gladly take that kind of player.

Starling Marte - OF MIA vs COL ($4200)

If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm stacking Marlins tonight and it's a pretty good idea against Chi Chi Gonzalez. A 4.84 ERA when you are a Rockies pitcher doesn't seem so bad. But interestingly, it's his away games that are blowing up Gonzalez's ratios. He has a 6.33 ERA on the road! Batters are slugging .514 against him when he comes to visit.

But this spend-up is more than just a match-up. You probably weren't even aware, but Marte is hitting .341 with 11 HRs! But Marte is not only lethal with the bat, but he also is a base-stealing threat as well. With half a dozen swipes already and the Marlins one of the most aggressive on the base-paths (they are fifth in the league in SBs), expect Marte to get the green light tonight. Even if he doesn't swipe a base, I'm definitely all systems go on Marte tonight!

Good luck with your entries!
