FanDuel NFL DFS Lineup Picks (Week 2): Daily Fantasy Football Advice

Tom Vecchio highlights the top FanDuel NFL DFS lineup picks for Week 2, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

RotoBallers, welcome to Week 2 of the daily fantasy football season. In this column, you will find my recommended FanDuel DFS Lineup Picks to target for Week 2 of the NFL season.

The goal is to identify players to start on FanDuel this week based on various factors including the opponent, the player's opportunity, analysis of the game's matchups, and the FanDuel price.

Let's find some DFS lineup sleepers, and win on FanDuel. Good luck in Week 2! Find me @DFS_Tom if you have any questions.

Editor's Note: The FFPC Baby Gorilla Tournament is now open, featuring a $100,000 grand prize and a $675,450 total prize pool! FanDuel Quarterbacks - Week 2 DFS Picks

Jimmy Garoppolo - QB, SF vs DET (FD - $7,300)

Garoppolo is coming off a bit of a rough Week 1, but that was up against the Vikings, who have one of the best pass defenses in the league, so you should be willing to overlook that. This week, he finds himself at home as a six-point favorite up against the Lions, who just gave up 200 yards and two touchdowns to a rookie quarterback. That gives the Lions the 25th DVOA vs the pass, which should make Jimmy G a safer option this week to get things back on track.

Tyrod Taylor - QB, CLE @ NO (FD - $6,600)

Taylor always makes a solid cash games option, since he brings a decent rushing floor, which bolsters his potential points. He had 197 passing yards with one passing and one rushing touchdown last week. This week, he is facing off against the Saints, who gave up over 400 passing yards last week, which gave them the 32nd DVOA vs the pass. We could be looking another shootout and the multi-touchdown potential for Taylor is strong this week.

FanDuel Running Backs - Week 2 DFS Picks

Adrian Peterson - RB, WAS vs IND (FD - $6,700)

Peterson looked really good in his first game, where he ran the ball 26 times for 96 yards and one touchdown. He also added two receptions for 70 yards, bringing a nice well-rounded game. Peterson and the Redskins are in a great spot see similar production, as he is up against the Colts, who come in with the 24th DVOA against the rush. The Redskins have the fifth highest implied team total set at 27, so a good bit of points expected from them.

James Connor - RB, PIT vs KC (FD - $7,000)

If you are looking for a straight chalk cash game play, Connor is your guy this week, just as he was last week. He had over 30 rushing attempts, 135 yards, and two touchdowns, along with a handful of catches in the passing game. The Steelers are using him in an identical role to Bell, so we should see him with the same usage and red zone work, which is tough to pass on in this offense.

FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 2 DFS Picks

Emmanuel Sanders - WR, DEN vs OAK (FD - $6,800)

Sanders went absolutely nuts in Week 1 and could be primed to repeat that production. He had 10 receptions for 135 yards and one touchdown, which all came mainly out of the slot. His PPR value is strong, even though FanDuel is only half point PPR. Sanders and the Broncos find themselves up against the Raiders, who come in with the 27th DVOA vs the pass.

Dante Pettis - WR, SF vs DET (FD - $4,500)

With the news that Marquise Goodwin missed practice yet again on Thursday, we should see a massive bump for Pettis this week. Pettis played on 73% of the offensive snaps last week and for his bare minimum salary, he is truly tough to pass on. He is up against the Lions, who got torched Monday night, which gave them the 25th DVOA vs the pass.

FanDuel Tight End - Week 2 DFS Pick

Travis Kelce - TE, KC @ PIT (FD - $6,800)

We all know that Kelce put up a huge dud in Week 1, but that was due to the fact the other parts of the Chiefs offense was so efficient, he didn't have to do much. He ended with a single catch for only six yards. Kelce still played on 100% of the snaps last week and will saw last season what his true potential is. Kelce has 100-yard upside in a game where the Chiefs are expected to score three touchdowns.

FanDuel Defense - Week 2 DFS Pick

Washington Redskins vs Indianapolis Colts

Last week the Redskins held the Cardinals to only six points while adding two sacks and one interception. This week they come in very cheap and are up against a Colts team, which only has an implied team total set at 21, which is one of the lower ones on the slate. This means they are facing Andrew Luck, who threw one interception last week, but more importantly, only average six yards per completion.
