FanDuel Daily Fantasy Football Lineup Picks (Week 17): NFL DFS Advice

Welcome to RotoBaller's daily fantasy football FanDuel lineup picks for Week 17 of the NFL season. In this article I will be taking you through the best FanDuel DFS value plays of the week for this upcoming Sunday.

These FanDuel lineup recommendations are based on matchups, recent performances, overall upside/talent levels, and other factors such as Vegas odds, home field advantage, and more.

Good luck with your FanDuel DFS lineups!

FanDuel Quarterbacks - Week 17 DFS Picks

Patrick Mahomes (@DEN $6,000)

Mahomes has been named the starter for the Chiefs Week 17 matchup against the Broncos and a number of things make him a viable DFS play. First, he faces a defense that has looked like it has completely given up when it has faced competent quarterbacks late in the season. Equally important is that Mahomes' price tag is so low that he needs to do very little to return value, and if his preseason performance is any indication he won’t be intimidated by the big stage. Finally, the kid is exciting and having a little more reason to root for him is added incentive to roster him in Week 17.

Kirk Cousins (@NYG $7,600)

The Redskins may not have a lot to play for, but Kirk Cousins certainly does with his everlasting contract situation still looming. He lit up an unmotivated Broncos defense last week and will face a depleted and likely equally lethargic defense in the Giants this week. The Giants already enter the week as the most favorable matchup for opposing quarterbacks, and that should only become an easier matchup with the suspension of Eli Apply and an otherwise unmotivated team.

FanDuel Running Backs - Week 17 DFS Picks

LeSean McCoy (@MIA $8,200)

The Bills have been riding LeSean McCoy hard in their final pushto make the playoffs as he has gotten 32, 24, and 22 touches in the past three weeks respectively. With the Bills still holding onto faint playoff hopes, McCoy should once again be in for a heavy workload. This week, he draws a Dolphins defense that has allowed at least one touchdown to opposing running backs each of the past three weeks and multiple touchdowns to them in two of those three weeks.

Derrick Henry (vs. JAC $5,800)

Much like Mahomes, Derrick Henry’s full arrival onto the fantasy scene comes with much intrigue. With DeMarco Murray battling a knee injury that will keep him out of action and the Titans needing a victory to secure a playoff berth, Henry should be a big part of the game plan. At this point we all know that the Jaguars boast an exceptionally strong defense, but with nothing to play for it’s hard to imagine they’ll be locked in to their normal degree. Henry will be beyond chalky this week, but it’s worth the plug and play.

FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 17 DFS Picks

Marquise Goodwin (@LAR $6,900)

The 49ers still have plenty to play for as they look to gain momentum for the 2018 season and add even more hype to their future outlook. On the other hand, the Rams are locked into the playoffs and will be sitting many of their starters as a result. Goodwin has been the most consistent beneficiary to Jimmy G’s arrival in San Francisco, and there’s no reason to expect that to change this week.

Josh Doctson (@ NYG $5,800)

Doctson saw 13 targets last week and failed to produce efficiently as he managed just two catches. He did manage a touchdown which masked the inefficiency, but this week that should be a different story against the incompetent Giants’ secondary that has already been highlighted. Despite his high targets last week, Doctson’s price barely rose, making him a nice value heading into Week 17.

FanDuel Tight End - Week 17 DFS Pick

Antonio Gates vs. OAK ($5,700)

The Chargers need all hands on deck for their final push to make the playoffs. In Hunter Henry’s absence, that includes Antonio Gates and he saw eight targets last week and has now gotten touchdowns in consecutive games. This week, he’ll face a Raiders team that has allowed at least 78 yards to opposing tight ends in four straight games and more than 90 yards in three of their past four.

FanDuel Defense - Week 17 DFS Pick

Los Angeles Chargers (vs. OAK, $4,900)

The Raiders just took part in a sloppy, turnover filled game on Christmas night against the Philadelphia Eagles. Their offense is liable to continue to be a mess to close out the season. With the Chargers still motivated by the possibility of reaching the playoffs, it's worth firing up their defense one more time.
