FanDuel Lineup Picks (Week 14) - NFL DFS Advice

Welcome to RotoBaller's daily fantasy football FanDuel lineup picks for Week 14 of the NFL season. In this article I will be taking you through the best FanDuel DFS value plays of the week for this upcoming Sunday.

These FanDuel lineup recommendations are based on matchups, recent performances, overall upside/talent levels, and other factors such as Vegas odds, home field advantage, and more.

Good luck with your FanDuel DFS lineups!

FanDuel Quarterbacks - Week 14 DFS Picks

There is some odd pricing on FanDuel this week at the quarterback position, making it a week I want to pay down at the position.

Jimmy Garoppolo (@HOU, $7,000)

Garoppolo was impressive in his first start with the 49ers, passing for 293 yards and averaging nearly eight yards per pass attempt. He didn’t find the end zone, so he failed to stand out in terms of fantasy production. This week, he will get a matchup against the Texans who have allowed nearly two passing touchdowns per game on the season. His price will make it relatively easy for him to pay back his price, even if he repeats last week's yardage total with a single touchdown.

Jameis Winston (vs. DET, $7,200)

Winston is another low-priced option a quarterback as he should benefit from returning home for the first time since returning from his injury. He looked no worse off returning from the injury last week, averaging more than 8.4 yards per attempt against the Packers. He will face a similarly positive matchup this week and his price tag is low enough that he doesn’t need massive production to pay off his price tag.

FanDuel Running Backs- Week 14 DFS Picks

Jay Ajayi (@ LA, $5,800)

Jay Ajayi finally led the Eagles in snap rate last week, and his snaps have steadily trended upward from week to week going from 20.31% to 28.21% and finally to 41.33% last week. That’s a positive regardless of whether his vault to the top of the Eagles' depth chart was him overtaking LeGarrette Blount or because of the game script  requiring the Eagles to pass more. This week against the Rams should prove to be a similarly close matchup in which the Eagles should prefer to have Ajayi on the field over Blount. Efficiency should be on Ajayi's side as well as the Rams have allowed opposing running backs to average over four yards per carry in each of the past five weeks. Ajayi isn’t the safest option on the board due to questions surrounding his volume, but he is trending in the right direction and this could be the last week to get him at a desirable price.

Giovani Bernard (vs. CHI, $5,100)

Speaking of desirable price, Bernard will be all kinds of chalk this week, but for good reason. With Joe Mixon ruled out due to a concussion, Bernard should see all of the work out of the Bengals backfield. The matchup against the Bears has been touted by many throughout the week, and while the numbers don’t necessarily indicate a tremendous matchup, the volume is too good to pass on.

FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 14 DFS Picks

Larry Fitzgerald (vs. TEN, $7,600)

Ftizgerald is someone I’m generally not excited about rostering in DFS formats, but this week puts him in a great scenario. To start, his volume is a constant as he has at least eight targets in each of the past five weeks and he has also been largely efficient in that span as well. The Titans have been boom or bust in terms of allowing points to opposing wide receivers, but given his safe volume, Fitzgerald should be able to find soft spots in their pass defense. He is a great cash game play as a result.

Michael Crabtree (@OAK, $7,100)

The Chiefs defense will be without their best corner in Marcus Peters, who was suspended by the team for this week. Just as importantly, the Raiders will either be without Amari Cooper altogether or likely only have a hobbled version of him come Sunday. That leaves Crabtree as the clear number one receiving option in what should be a favorable matchup without an inflated price tag.

FanDuel Tight End - Week 14 DFS Pick

Jason Witten (@NYG, $5,800)

It’s been easy to say use tight ends against the Giants this season and that is once again the case this week. Witten has caught four touchdowns this season, and in those weeks he has scored 15.4, 20.7, 13.4, and 7.3 FD points respectively. The Giants have not allowed a touchdown to a tight end in three weeks, but Witten has historically had success against them. That said, I’ll bet on the larger sample being real which means drawing the conclusion that the Giants still can’t cover tight ends.

FanDuel Defense - Week 14 DFS Pick

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. DET, $4,700)

This is less about being impressed with the Buccaneers defense and more about the state of the Detroit Lions offense. While Matt Stafford will likely play, he is ailing with a hand injury. Just as importantly, the Lions will likely be missing the entire right side of their line. That will give the Bucs plenty of opportunity to create pressure and potentially turnovers as well.
