FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (3/25/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey

We have a huge nine-game main slate tonight for both DraftKings and FanDuel. Also, there are quite a few teams in action who are in the playoff hunt. You should be looking at teams in higher over-under games. Toronto and Florida expect to be a high-event game full of pace, scoring chances, and likely goals.

The good news tonight is that there are no sludge matchups and every team has had at least one night of rest. Remember, when picking around for plays, an over/under of 6.5 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5.5 tilts towards the goalies.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/25/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @ChrisWasselDFS. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Jack Eichel - C, BUF vs NJ (FD - $8,000, DK - $7,000)

Eichel's price went down ahead of the game against New Jersey. He is facing a team that the center plays well against and a team playing out the string like Buffalo. The one risk playing New Jersey is their penalty kill is perennially in the top ten. The good thing about playing New Jersey is there will be plenty of chances even with players like Nico Hischier and Kyle Palmieri back in the lineup. Their defense gives up a ton of odd-man opportunities and high-danger chances of late. The goalies cannot stop them all as they say. Eichel's price is discounted on DraftKings and not horrible on FanDuel given his propensity to shoot the puck. New Jersey has climbed into the top ten in several key rates including shots allowed per 60, scoring chances per 60, and goals per 60 at even strength. Buffalo may be just as bad but Eichel will get his chances. Brayden Point is a cheaper option on DraftKings at $6,400 on their "Discount Monday".

David Pastrnak - W, BOS vs TAM (FD - $7,800, DK - $7,000)

There is some risk because Pastrnak has not been quite as proficient coming back from the thumb injury. Tampa has been allowing some goals of late and they have clinched everything. This is a statement game, however. Some will feel the urge to try game stacking this tilt in some way. Pastrnak is more of a one-off and maybe a mini-stack with Patrice Bergeron perhaps. Boston's offense has been hot of late and that includes a seven-goal outburst on Saturday against Florida. Again, the Boston winger's price is a little lower than normal which helps when trying to assemble a lineup. Nikita Kucherov will always be an option but look again to Johnny Gaudreau who has cooled off a bit. Gaudreau faces a slow Los Angeles team that could give up 3-4 goals or more on Monday.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Mark Giordano - D, CGY vs LAK (FD - $7,200, DK - $6,700)

Giordano provided us a bonanza of points on Saturday with a three-point effort and has 11 overall in his last ten games. His floor is good enough to offset his high-price tag. Los Angeles allows well over three goals a game on the road with a penalty kill less than 75% away from home. The Kings are bottom five in the NHL in daily fantasy points allowed to defensemen. Among the upper-tiered defensemen, Victor Hedman is just $6,000 on DraftKings.

Vince Dunn - D, STL vs VGK (FD - $3,800, DK - $3,900)

Dunn plays a bulk of his 5 on 5 even-strength ice time with Alex Pietrangelo now. The results have been good offensively with Dunn racking up two goals and five points in his last five games. His floor is not quite as good as other value defensemen, but the offense is hard to pass up. Dunn sets up well in the offensive zone and creates chances well. That has been a winning recipe for St. Louis of late. Vegas has been very good but Dunn will go overlooked and get some looks on the man advantage also. That price allows one to spend in so many other places while garnering good potential value on Monday night.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Jordan Binnington - G, STL vs VGK (FD - $8,600, DK - $7,500)

Binnington projects to start on Monday night against Vegas. This will not be an easy play but the Blues goalie likely could face 30-35+ shots on goal. Binnington is 10-2 at home while allowing just 2.05 goals per game. His save percentage is lower at home than it is on the road but this may feel like a road game at times. The Vegas top-six can crater opposition as they did in last year's playoffs. On a night where goaltending options could be high-risk, Binnington is somewhat safer. Other GPP choices may include Devan Dubnyk and even Andrei Vasilevskiy (especially on DraftKings at just $7,800).
