FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (3/19/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey

We have a 10-game slate tonight with a few lopsided favorites, along with some games with over-under set at six or higher. There should be plenty of scoring to go around tonight and plenty of options for both cash games or GPPs.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/19/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Nathan MacKinnon - C, COL @ MIN (FD - $8,900, DK - $7,700)

MacKinnon and the Avalanche are in a spot where they need to be picking up two points every night if they are going to be making the playoffs, so a near must-win situation. Since Gabriel Landeskog is done for the year with an injury, more of the offense has fallen onto MacKinnon, who has 23 shots in his last four games. That is something we want to capture even at a very high price across the industry since he brings a super safe floor of points. The matchup is middle of the road, which has me only wanting him in GPPs tonight at what should be lower ownership.

Wayne Simmonds - W, NSH vs TOR (FD - $3,900, DK - $3,500)

Simmonds is very, very affordable tonight and now up against the Maple Leafs who seemingly forgot how to play defense as of late. They have allowed five or more goals in four straight games, along with having a 63 Corsi Against, which is the third worst in the league over the past month. He only has six shots in his last three games with no points in that span, but that is reflected in his salary, which makes him easy to stack tonight and viable in all formats.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Michal Kempny - D, WAS @ NJ (FD - $3,800, DK - $4,200)

Kempny has a great price on FanDuel tonight and is often overlooked on slates this size, but brings plenty of value. He has four points in his last five games, along with eight shots and three blocked shots. This is generally the level of production we've seen from him all season and with him not on either power-play unit, his ceiling of points will be capped at a certain point. But with that said, he is on the first defensive pairing, so the ice time is always there for him and now up against the Devils, he could be able to extend this recent surge in offense.

Vince Dunn - D, STL vs EDM (FD - $3,600, DK - $4,100)

Always on board with a guy like Dunn since he is never expensive and comes in with a decent ceiling based on a point per dollar basis. He is now up on the first defensive pairing for the Blues and still on the second power-play, which makes a nice stacking option tonight since they are at home and -205 favorites. They are going up against the Oilers who have a 61 Corsi Against over the past month which is the eighth worst in the league, setting the Blues up for plenty of shots tonight.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Sam Montembeault - G, FLA @ DAL (FD - $7,700, DK - $7,400)

Montembeault has a few strong games under his belt with four wins in his first six career NHL Games but they haven't come easy. He has allowed three or more goals in three of these six games but has a chance to grab a road win tonight in Dallas, since the Stars only hold a 53 Corsi For this season, meaning they are generating very few offensive chances per game and has the Panthers as only +130 road dogs.
