FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (3/14/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey

Tom Vecchio's top NHL DFS lineup picks on FanDuel, DraftKings for 3/14/19. Expert daily fantasy hockey advice, sleepers & player recommendations.

We have a 10-game slate tonight with a few lopsided favorites, along with some games with over-under set at six or higher. There should be plenty of scoring to go around tonight and plenty of options for both cash games or GPPs.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/14/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Steven Stamkos - C, TB (FD - $8,200, DK - $7,400)

Stamkos and the Lightning come in as a-390 road favorite today, which is just a silly line, showing how good they are and how bad the Red Wings are. When it comes to Stamkos, it's what it's been all season, expensive, first forward line and the first power-play unit. Great for cash games or GPPs tonight since the Red Wings are bottom 10 in both Corsi Against and the number of high-danger scoring chances allowed per 60 over the past month. This provides the Lightning with a great floor of points for cash games and of course, a great ceiling for GPPs.

Brendan Gallagher - W, MON @ NYI (FD - $7,200, DK - $6,700)

Here is my hot take of the night: The Canadiens go to the Islanders, hang at least four goals en route to a win. Yes, the Islanders are allowing 2.4 goals per game for the season and they will give up far more than that tonight, why might you ask? Well, over the past month the Islanders come in the fifth worst in Corsi Against and the fourth worst in the number of high-danger scoring chances allowed per 60. Their defense has taken a sharp decline as of late and with Gallagher coming in with 17 shots in his last five games, he will have plenty of opportunities to rack up fantasy points, all of which is great for a GPP stack.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Ivan Provorov - D, PHI vs WAS (FD - $4,800, DK - $5,200)

When it comes to defense, I either want one of two things, massive goal scoring upside, or a super solid floor of points. Provorov brings the latter, with him averaging nearly two shots AND two blocked shots per game. That is amazingly consistent production to lock into your lineups at under $5K on FanDuel tonight, putting him firmly in the cash game player pool. He is up against the Capitals in a game where the over-under is set at 6.5 goals, meaning we could be in for a wild one tonight.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson - D, ARI vs ANH (FD - $5,200, DK - $4,900)

OEL is another consistent option who isn't expensive tonight and has a great matchup since he is up against the Ducks, who are simply horrible this season. The Ducks come in near the bottom of the league in Corsi Against, the number of high-danger scoring chances allowed per 60, and anything you can imagine. OEL has two points, eight shots, and five blocked shots over the past five games, which should put him in play for either format.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Jordan Binnington - G, STL @ OTT (FD - $8,600, DK - $8,300)

Binnington is coming off a few tough games, but in a spot to right the ship as he is a -265 road favorite against the lowly Senators. I want to say he is cash game viable tonight since the Blues are clearly the better team here, but his recent inconsistency and this being on the road has me cautious. He should be among the lower owned goalies tonight due to his price and lack of true upside when it comes to raw points.
