FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (2/17/18): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Tom Vecchio's top NHL DFS lineup picks on FanDuel, DraftKings for 2/17/18. Expert daily fantasy hockey advice, sleepers & player recommendations.

We have a 7 game slate tonight, and there are good options on the board. Stacking will be big tonight, so look for some value where you can, and then load up on the star skaters where you can afford them.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 2/17/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Patrice Bergeron - C, BOS @ VAN (DK - $7,600, FD - $8,200)

Bergeron is simply one of my favorite players to roster in NHL DFS since he is so consistent, and tonight has a great matchup, which has upside. He is on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, so the ice time will be there against the Canucks, whoa re giving up over three goals per game. Anytime they are on the slate, you should consider rostering against them. He is taking over three shots per game, has seven points in his last four games, and can also chip in with a blocked shot every now and then. Great all around pick tonight, and can be used in any format.

Taylor Hall - W, NJ @ TV (DK - $6,900, FD - $8,000)

Hall has a 16 game point streak going right now, and you never want to walk away from a heater. He is on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, no up against Tampa, who are great this yea, but on defense they have been lacking lately. They have given up four or more goals in four of their last six games. This puts the Devils in a bit of a sneaky spot, since they are +200 road underdogs. Really like Hall as a one off in your GPPs tonight, and doing a full stack is risky but has the upside.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Ryan Ellis - D, NSH vs DET (DK - $4,900, FD - $4,900)

Ellis isn't that expensive tonight, and is up against the Red Wings, who aren't the strongest defensively. He is on the first defensive pairing and the second power-play unit, so plenty of upside for him. Ellis has points in two straight games, is taking over two shots per game, and blocking over one shot per game.

John Carlson - D, WAS @ CHI (DK - $6,200, FD - $ 5,900)

If you are looking to pay for consistency at defense tonight, look no further than Carlson. He is playing well over 20 minutes per game, taking almost three shots per game, and blocking a bit under two shots per game. He is on the first defensive pairing and the top power-play unit, and now up against the Blackhawks, who are seriously struggling on defense this season. Makes a great cash game option for this slate.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Marc-Andre Fleury - G, VGK vs MON (DK - $8,500, FD - $8,600)

Fleury is a -245 favorite at home tonight, making him one of the top targets for cash games. He has six wins in his last eight starts, and is seeing about 30 shots per game, so plenty of time for him to rack up fantasy points. Vegas is super strong at home this season, and if you need a goalie who is a lock to pick up the win, Fleury is your guy tonight. He is one of the more expensive goalies on the slate, but worth paying up for.
