FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (11/23/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Saturday features an eleven-game evening slate with a spotlight on games like Florida and the Carolina, Toronto and Colorado, plus even Edmonton and Vegas.

Remember, when looking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. There are several games at 6.5, as that has become the new norm in hockey now.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/23/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @ChrisWasselDFS. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Nathan MacKinnon - C, COL vs TOR (FD - $8,800, DK - $8,400)

Toronto will be tested on Saturday night unlike the other night against Arizona. MacKinnon and then especially Nazem Kadri, who will likely be higher owned than any night this season in DFS. That being said, MacKinnon presents a danger to the Leafs' defense that few centers could possess. For DFS purposes, MacKinnon easily could surpass 5+ shots, have a few points, and even score on the power play. This is a matchup nightmare scenario for Toronto in that no other center on their team can slow the Colorado pivot down.

David Pastrnak - W, BOS vs MIN (FD - $9,200, DK - $8,700)

The winger, like MacKinnon, is averaging five shots a game over his last ten contests. Furthermore, he is still firing pucks into and on the net. Eight goals in this time span cement Pastrnak as a must-own. That brings him up to 20 goals in 22 games on the season. Minnesota is far worse on the road and may have to start a third-string goaltender. Pastrnak's release on his shot is a big reason why he scores so many goals. Minnesota will not be fast enough to stop that on Saturday night.

Also, Consider:

  • Aleksander Barkov, Pierre Luc-Dubois, and even Connor McDavid are excellent plays on Saturday night.
  • David Pastrnak and Leon Draisaitl are truly a coin flip on this night so do choose wisely.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Dougie Hamilton - D, CAR vs FLA (FD - $6,700, DK - $6,900)

We are picking on the Florida Panthers a little bit here. For a team that gives up 35+ shots per 60 on the road and over 3.5 goals a game, it is a wise idea. Hamilton is averaging 3.7 shots per game and 1.4 blocks per contest over the last ten. That includes a point-per-game clip as far as production. Hamilton has attempted nearly 70 shots in this timeframe as well. Florida provides a perfect matchup on a night where yes, one will have to spend up a little bit on defense in places.

Victor Hedman - D, TAM vs ANA (FD - $6,400, DK - $6,500)

Hedman returned from injury a changed defenseman. He has scored a point in all six games and that includes several multiple-point efforts. Anaheim offers a good matchup tonight simply because of their propensity to allow shots and chances. Now, they yield among the five or six most points to defensemen on the road. Tampa Bay also has seen what Florida did to the Ducks in that four-goal comeback. Hedman should have plenty of scoring chances on Saturday night.

Also, Consider:

  • Cale Makar benefits on FanDuel due to a lower price. Also, do not forget to look at Jeff Petry. Filip Hronek makes for a nice value option.
  • Roman Josi/Ryan Ellis are great bets on Saturday night against St. Louis. Nashville has to do something unexpected, right?

DFS Goalie to Consider

Louis Domingue - G, NJD vs DET  (FD - $7,000, DK - $7,600)

The idea was to take a crazy risk on a goaltender. This qualifies more than likely. Domingue came in to mop up last night for New Jersey and gets the start tonight against a Detroit team that has difficulties winning on the road. New Jersey has challenges putting a competent team defense on the ice so expect a good number of scoring chances at least. This presents as a true riverboat gambler type of risk but if it pays off then lookout. Domingue's near minimum FanDuel price helps here as well.

Also, Consider:

  • The other good GPP choices on Saturday night include Thomas Greiss and Connor Hellebuyck. They carry a lot of risks but have some potential for points. The Panthers-Hurricanes matchup could see 70+ shots combined. Picking the right goalie nets the save bonus likely.
