FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (11/16/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Saturday features a ten-game evening slate with a spotlight on games like Florida and the New York Rangers, Boston and Washington, plus even Nashville and Chicago.

Remember, when looking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. There are several games at 6.5, as that has become the new norm in hockey now.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/16/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @ChrisWasselDFS. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Jack Eichel - C, BUF vs OTT (FD - $7,900, DK - $7,700)

Eichel is going up against an Ottawa team on no rest at home. The center has slowed down production-wise with just four goals and nine points in his last ten games. That is on 34 shots on the net which is right around his season average. The forward should have more opportunities against one of the worst teams in the NHL. Buffalo's power-play becomes an added advantage against the Ottawa penalty kill which ranks in the bottom third on the road. Ottawa allows 34.2 shots per game as well. Expect Eichel to get plenty of chances.

Filip Forsberg - W, NSH vs CHI  (FD - $7,800, DK - $7,600)

The winger did what he usually does and scored a goal in his fourth consecutive game on Tuesday in Vancouver. In his last ten games, the left-winger has 40 shots on goal and seven goals. He draws against a Chicago team that allows the fifth-most DFS points to wingers in the league. That rank worsens to the third most on the road. Nashville is capable of scoring nearly four goals a game at home and Forsberg is a big reason why.

Also, Consider:

  • Aleksander Barkov, Auston Matthews, and even Nathan MacKinnon are viable plays on Saturday night.
  • David Pastrnak and Alex Ovechkin are truly a coin flip on this night and they play each other in a sludge matchup.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Adam Fox - D, NYR vs FLA (FD - $3,700, DK - $4,600)

We are hitting a FanDuel value play here because of how bad Florida's team defense is to defensemen. Florida allows the fifth-most points to defensemen in DFS. Fox has three goals on 20 shots and five assists in his previous ten contests. Add in a block a game and Fox has a decent enough floor to merit rostering as a one-off on Saturday night even in Florida. There are plenty of options in the Rangers-Panthers game. If there were fewer games on the slate, Fox would be part of a game stack.

Radim Simek - D, SJS vs DET (FD - $3,500, DK - $3,600)

Simek has hit the blocked shots bonus in three of his five games since returning from a knee injury. He had a goal and four shots against Minnesota and is seeing about 19 minutes of ice time a night. At even strength, he is being paired with Brent Burns to provide some defensive stability. That stability has a nice fringe positive effect of more offense for Simek. Considering the defender is minimum priced, Simek is worth a punt play in every and any format on Saturday night.

Also, Consider:

  • Jeff Petry and Cale Makar enjoy plus-matchups and are very reasonably priced due to value to dollar potential.
  • Roman Josi/Ryan Ellis are great bets on Saturday night against Chicago.

DFS Goalie to Consider

Jordan Binnington - G, STL vs ANH  (FD - $8,300, DK - $8,300)

The idea was to pick on Anaheim and hope the Ducks can put a few extra shots on goal on Saturday. One concern is that St. Louis is not rested. That is a common theme on this night as many of the teams who played Friday also do on Saturday. Only one team has the day off on Saturday. With lots of uncertainty, Binnington should have an easy enough matchup. It is a question of getting the win on Saturday.

Also, Consider:

  • The other good GPP choices on Saturday night include whoever starts for New Jersey and Carter Hutton. They carry a lot of risks but have some potential for points. The Panthers-Rangers matchup expects to see a ton of shots so one or both could get the saves bonus.
