FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (11/12/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Tuesday features nine games in all with a spotlight on games like Florida and Boston, Pittsburgh and the Rangers, plus even Nashville and Vancouver.

Remember, when looking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. There are several games at 6.5, as that has become the new norm in hockey now.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/12/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @ChrisWasselDFS. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Elias Pettersson - C, VAN vs NSH (FD - $7,200, DK - $7,200)

Pettersson is a fun, late GPP option on Tuesday night that one cannot get away from. Nashville can give up four goals a game on the road at times (3.86 per contest). The Predators are among the most entertaining teams on this slate to pick on which makes Pettersson even more attractive. The center has 12 points in his last ten contests while hitting the net at nearly three times per game. Expect a higher-event game than usual from Vancouver tonight.

David Pastrnak - W, BOS vs FLA  (FD - $9,100, DK - $8,300)

The winger keeps going and has another great matchup against the Florida Panthers. Florida is another one of those teams that bleed goals on the road. They allow 3.55 goals per game on the road but that includes five to the New York Rangers on Sunday. Goaltending and defense have been an issue and the Aleksander Barkov line has been eaten alive from an expected goals allowed standpoint. Boston's top line does not expect to be slowed down in this one. Pastrnak projects to exceed value once more on this night.

Also, Consider:

  • Connor McDavid, Evgeni Malkin, and even Mark Scheifele could be viable plays on Tuesday night.
  • Leon Draisaitl, Filip Forsberg, and Evander Kane are also in plus-matchup situations on this nice slate.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Alex Pietrangelo - D, STL vs ARZ (FD - $6,500, DK - $5,800)

Pietrangelo faces an Arizona team that just played Washington last night. Fatigue could set in a bit for the Coyotes against a St. Louis team that plays at a pace that grinds down the opposition. Darcy Kuemper will be in net for the Coyotes and there are expectations that more point shots will get through against Arizona on Tuesday night. Pietrangelo has 11 points in his last ten games with three goals on 21 shots. He does not block a ton of shots like most defensemen but he does provide a little bit more offense.

Alex Edler - D, VAN vs NSH (FD - $5,300, DK - $6,200)

Edler is among those swiss-army knife defensemen that one needs in fantasy hockey (and especially DFS). Edler frequently hits the shots blocked bonus on DraftKings which adds to his floor. Also, this is a good matchup against a Nashville team that gives up a ton of shots but attempts a lot too. Any offense that the Vancouver blueliner provides is a boost. Even Oskar Klefbom around the same price is that kind of player (a good amount of shots, a greater amount of blocks).

Also, Consider:

  • Jeff Petry (especially with Shea Weber's flu bug) and Cale Makar enjoy plus-matchups and are very reasonably priced due to category filling potential.
  • Charlie McAvoy and Quinn Hughes are solid, value plays (under $4,500) on Tuesday night. Also, do keep in mind McAvoy will be moderately owned at least because of the matchup and the Torey Krug injury.

DFS Goalie to Consider

Carey Price - G, MTL vs CLB (FD - $8,600, DK - $8,500)

The thought process was to look at a goalie who faces a team that can shoot the puck a ton. Columbus fits that bill and can come up with occasional 35+ shot outbursts like they did last week. Price may also be without Shea Weber due to illness. Even if Weber plays, his abilities may be diminished. Price has been excellent in three of his last four starts, making 35+ saves in two of those. Columbus allows the most DFS points to goaltenders (low scoring, high shot outputs).

Also, Consider:

  • The other good GPP choices on Tuesday night include Connor Hellebuyck and Thatcher Demko (if he starts -- Jakob Markstrom's father passed on Monday -- our deepest condolences). They carry a lot of risks but are lower-priced especially on DraftKings.
