FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers And Advice for 4/21/15

Kevin Luchansky analyzes some MLB DFS lineup picks & sleepers for 4/21/15 on FanDuel fantasy baseball daily leagues. His DFS advice and value picks help you win on FanDuel.

Fifteen MLB games today and if the overs/unders set in Vegas are any indication, there will be a healthy number of stacking options. I'm not exactly enthralled with the pitching options in terms of strikeout potential, but there are a few "safer" bets for guys who should pick up wins.

Stacking Offenses to Target for FanDuel DFS

Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles bats were pretty quiet Monday morning in Boston, but I'm confident they bounce back in Toronto. The team handles left handed pitching well (.278 batting average) and over the course of 149 at-bats, current Orioles have hit .384 off Mark Buehrle, tonight's starter. Nine of their 61 hits left the yard, and another 10 went for extra bases. In their previous matchup this season, Adam Jones hit a two run shot and I like his chances again tonight. Demon Young could be an excellent play as well. He's always hit lefties well (lifetime batting average over .300) and he's taken Buehrle deep four times in his career. Chris Davis is worth a look as well.

San Diego Padres

The Padres offense exploded 14 runs on 16 hits yesterday, and their match-up tonight should pay big dividends too. The team is hitting over .330 against left-handed pitching and they've got another lefty this evening in Tyler Matzek. The fact the game is being played in Coors Field just makes this even sweeter. Matzek isn't a high strikeout guy and for his career he's allowed a BABIP over .300. That spells trouble at Coors. Honestly, Derek Norris, Matt Kemp, Justin Upton and Will Middlebrooks all have a chance to rack up high points tonight.

New York Yankees

The Bronx Bombers should get after Tigers starter Kyle Lobstein early and often. Lobstein doesn't have strikeout stuff, doesn't have great velocity (88 mph), and is more of a long reliever type than a starter. He's just not very good and I like the Yankees home run potential here too. I'm at least checking in on right-handed starters near the top of the lineup.

Additional Teams: Kansas City Royals

DFS Catchers To Consider for FanDuel

Salvador Perez - C - Royals ($3,600)

Batter versus pitcher data reveals Perez owns a .429 lifetime average against Twins starter Tommy Milone. The Royals have a major league leading 32 runs off left-handed pitching this season.

Derek Norris - C - Padres ($3,000)

Like Perez, Norris is near the top of a lineup that has mashed lefties this season. Playing in Coors field is an additional boost in my confidence in Norris, who isn't too expensive.

DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel

Chris Davis - 1B - Orioles ($3,700)

Davis could find a lot of RBI opportunities on his plate tonight and he has taken Buehrle deep twice in 23 at-bats. He also boasts a .304 batting average.

Joe Mauer - 1B - Twins ($3,000)

How do you ignore a lifetime .400 average in 30 at-bats against Jason Vargas? You don't.

Jose Altuve - 2B - Astros ($4,100)

Always good for a few hits and a threat on the base paths. Altuve has five hits off Walker in 10 plate appearances and two went for extra bases. Most expensive 2B on the board, however.

Neil Walker - 2B - Pirates ($3,300)

Walker is slotted cleanup in this Pirates lineup full of hitters that have all typically handed Cubs starter Travis Wood very well. Walker has taken him deep, too. (17 at-bats)

Aramis Ramirez - 3B - Brewers ($2,800)

Ramirez is facing off against Jason Marquis, who quite frankly hasn't had major league stuff in years. Ramirez has a .375 lifetime average against, and he's to be had very cheap if you need to skimp on this position.

Manny Machado - 3B - Orioles ($3,300)

A good middle of the road play, Machado is in a lineup I expect to score a lot of runs and I like the chances he plays a role.

Matt Carpenter - 3B - Cardinals ($4,400)

Carpenter has a tough matchup against Gio Gonzalez tonight, but he's been out of this world this past week.  You may want to ride him out until he comes back down to Earth.

Troy Tulowitzki - SS - Rockies ($5,300)

Gawk at the price tag all you want. He possesses the opportunity to be worth every penny once again.

Jimmy Rollins - SS - Dodgers ($3,600)

Rollins had a day off yesterday. With fresh legs and the not to be trusted Tim Lincecum opposing, he's a guy I can roll with today.

DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel

Ryan Braun - OF - Brewers ($3,500)

Braun is hitting over .500 in 25 career at-bat against Marquis. Need I say more?

Adam Jones - OF - Orioles ($5,100)

As I mentioned above, I expect Adam to be very productive tonight.

Yasiel Puig - OF - Dodgers ($4,300)

Owns Lincecum, but be careful as he is listed as day-to-day with a hamstring injury.

Matt Kemp - OF - Padres ($4,300)

Monday's highlight reel continues into Tuesday for Matt Kemp.

DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel

Gio Gonzalez - SP - Nationals ($8,900)

Gio always has solid strikeout potential, even against this Cardinals squad who have been okay, but not great so far. Lifetime, Cardinals hitters are hittung sub .200 against Gonzalez, and I expect a low scoring game here. ($8,900)

Wade Miley - SP - Red Sox ($7,500)

Since I'm not thrilled about a lot of the pitching options, I'm giving Miley a go in tournament formats. I think Miley presents the best combo of a possible solid return on investment at a price tag that should allow me to stuff my lineup with a lot of top tier hitters.
