FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers & Advice for 7/1/15: Stacking Philly(?)

Max Petrie analyzes some MLB DFS lineup picks & sleepers for 7/1/15 on FanDuel fantasy baseball daily leagues. His DFS advice and value picks help you win on FanDuel.

Welcome to July 1st. As with every Wednesday we're looking at another full slate of baseball. There's four early morning games so double-check lineups before 12:35 if you plan to play in an all-day league. There's only one ace on the board (Cueto) but plenty of middle-range options to consider including Carrasco, Lester, Burnett, and Walker. Hence I'll be including some bigger named bats to complete your roster.

Editor's Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's FREE to enter and pays out $110,000 in cash prizes!

Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Carlos Carrasco (CLE, SP) @ TB - $9,100

Carrasco has performed better of late, dropping his ERA from 4.98 to 4.16 since May 17th. He also hasn't allowed more than two walks in a game since May 6th. He's running a cold Tampa team, as they were in the bottom half of all offensive categories in June.

Taijuan Walker (SEA, SP) @ SD - $7,800

Walker has been on fire lately. He has only allowed one run in three of his last four starts and has a 29/2 K/BB ratio in that time span. As long as the price doesn't skyrocket I have no problem using Walker until further notice.

Offenses to Target for FanDuel Stacking

Philadelphia Phillies

Yes, you read that correctly. The Phillies get to face a familiar face in Kyle Lohse tonight, and I see a chance to strike on the cheap. Lohse has a MLB-worst 6.28 ERA among qualified starters and has now allowed at least one HR in seven(!) straight starts. The biggest factor to selecting the Phillies is that ownership is likely to be much lower than the traditional stack lineup. If they crush it, you've given yourself a strong competitive advantage in tournaments. Multiple Phillies have been playing well lately or have success versus Lohse previously, including Cesar Hernandez ($2,700), Maikel Franco ($3,400), Ryan Howard ($2,500), and Cody Asche ($2,200).

Again, this is a risky proposition. Don't throw all your chips on the Phillies, but one tourney lineup should suffice.

Honorable Mentions: Los Angeles Angels ; Toronto Blue Jays ; Arizona Diamondbacks

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Andrew Susac (SF, C) - $3,000

Susac is on a four-game hitting streak and recently received a vote of confidence from Bruce Bochy to become the everyday catcher. Get 'em while he's cheap.

Paul Goldschmidt (ARI, 1B) - $5,400

If you're going cheap at SP you better grab a share of Goldy. He's on absolute fire, he torches lefties, and he's 7-for-11 (.636) with two HR in his career vs Brett Anderson.

Danny Espinosa (WAS, 2B) - $2,300

Espinosa has been getting time at second in the order which boosts his fantasy potential, and he's put up better numbers on the road.

Nolan Arenado (COL, 3B) - $5,200

As you likely know by now Arenado is murdering the baseball. Shockingly enough, he has better numbers across the board away from Coors. Arenado has 22 of his 24 HR vs RHP and gets Jesse Hahn today.

Matt Duffy (SF, 3B) - $3,700

Here's another 3B who has found his groove lately. Duffy has seen regular playing time batting third in the Giants lineup and excelled, batting .400 in 25 AB. He's also batting .333 vs RHP and gets one (Dan Haren) tonight.

Ian Desmond (WAS, SS) - $2,300

Desmond has looked more like himself lately, hitting two HR with a SB last week.  One of those HR was against Matt Wisler, who he'll see tonight. Can't argue with the price either.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Ryan Braun (MIL, OF) - $4,800

The price is high, but Braun has turned it on lately. He has a .435/.519 line in the past week along with a HR and two SB to his name.

Brett Gardner (NYY, OF) - $4,600

Same situation with Gardner as with Braun. A high price, but the stats to back it up. He's been the second best player in the past two weeks in Yahoo! leagues and has a .454 AVG in that span.

AJ Pollock (ARI, OF) - $3,800

Pollock loves lefties and is hitting .328/.386/.484 vs them this season. He's 4-for-12 lifetime vs Brett Anderson as well.

Yasmany Tomas (ARI, OF) - $3,400

Same theme here with Tomas - he has a higher SLG and OPS vs LHP and finally broke the seal on his first Chase Field HR this week. I expect more to come from the talented Cuban.
