FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (11/9/16): NBA DFS Advice

Well, well, what do we have here? An 11 game Wednesday NBA slate! It's just what this country deserves - check that, it's what we need - right now. In all seriousness, though, it's a pretty juicy slate. As far as Vegas lines that could give us insight as to who to target, the game that look most opportunistic for stacking purposes are the 76ers at Pacers (210), Rockets at Spurs (210.5), and the Blazers at Clippers (209.5). The only thing to be mindful of in these games is blowouts. Certainly, those can be hard to predict, but in games with high over/unders and large spreads, the highest value plays are often on the underdog.

These are my daily fantasy NBA lineup picks for FanDuel on 11/09/16. Note that these DFS lineup picks can range from some of the elite NBA players to mid-priced DFS options and value play sleepers on FanDuel. Let's get rolling…

FanDuel DFS Guards

Dennis Schroder - PG, CHI ($6,000)

Schroder is an excellent value play this evening. He's a superior, well-conditioned athlete, so I don't think the back-to-back games will have too much of an impact on his playing time or his performance. He's been very consistent lately, outperforming his price implied value in each of his last three games. He has a usage rate of over 25 this season and is facing off against a Chicago team that has been very kind to opposing point guards this season.

Kentavious Caldwell Pope - SG, at PHX ($4,400)

KCP was on an excellent streak over his last three games and then absolutely face planted in his most recent performance, putting up just two FanDuel points. He isn't cash game safe tonight, in my opinion, but I think he's an excellent value play and sneaky tournament option. His price is an absolute bargain for someone who puts up the volume of shots that he gets, and playing against Phoenix and their fast paced offense (and lackadaisical defense) is a really strong matchup for him. The Suns have given up an average of 4.5 points above salary based expectations to opposing shooting guards this season.

James Harden - SG, at SAS ($11,100)

Playing against the defense of the Spurs isn't the most opportunistic matchup, but with all the value on the board tonight, I have little trouble affording his inflated salary and his numbers suggest he can pass his salary implied point total. Those numbers? Oh, just a usage rate over 35, a PER above 34, and 1.27 fantasy points per minute.

Also Consider:  Jose Juan Barea - PG, at GSW ($5,700)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Carmelo Anthony - SF, BKN ($7,500)

Carmelo hasn't been stellar this season, but his play has been trending upward and he has a really great matchup tonight. Despite Kristaps Porzingis' increase in touches on offense, Anthony is still the focal point of the offense. His usage projection tonight is near 30 and has hovered around 28 thus far this season. I'm expecting him to cruise past salary based expectations tonight.

Kristaps Porzingis - PF, BKN ($6,600)

Yes, I'm touting both forwards in the Knickerbocker front-court this evening. Against a team like the Nets, I think they can both cruise past salary based expectations and should both see their fare share of offensive opportunities. For the season, Porzingis is averaging a fantasy point per minute and playing in the range of 31-34 minutes a night. He also has an impressive PER of 20.9.

Also Consider:  Kawhi Leonard - SF, HOU ($8,800), Tobias Harris - PF, at PHX ($5,900)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Karl-Anthony Towns - C, at ORL ($8,700)

While this price may not be your prototypical "bargain" price, it's still a steal for a man of his talent and nightly output. Towns has been consistently good to above-average this season, and I really like this matchup for him tonight against a Magic team that doesn't defend big men very well. For the season, Towns has an impressive usage rate just over 25 and a PER of 25.4. He certainly makes the most of his minutes on the floor.

Also Consider: Jahlil Okafor - C, at IND ($5,100)
