Daily Fantasy Leagues - Fanduel Lineup Picks (6/25)

Tim Lincecum 2009Tim Lincecum SP / SFG ($6,800) - Yes, Wednesday’s big bargain hurler is none other than the Giants’ two-time NL Cy Young Award winner. Long gone are the days when Lincecum was the absolute best in the biz. Instead, here in the present, “The Freak” is one of the most frustratingly inconsistent starting pitchers that the game has to offer. However, there are a couple of things that suggest he could come up with a strong performance versus the Padres.

First off, a look at Lincecum’s stats from his last eight outings in front of the home crowd at pitcher’s paradise AT&T Park reveals a 3-1 record and an impressive 2.72 ERA through 46.1 innings. In fact, the four-time All-Star has allowed no more than three runs in any of those eight starts.

The second bit of noteworthy information regarding Lincecum is the fact that he has absolutely owned the Padres over the past couple of years. Since the start of 2013, he has matched up with the Friars on five separate occasions, winning four times (with a no-hitter on July 13, 2013) while cruising to a 2.62 ERA and 11.0 K/9. In other words, there is plenty of evidence to support a confident roll of the dice with Lincecum this afternoon.

Dayan Viciedo OF / CHW ($2,400) - Viciedo is known more for his prowess against left-handed pitching, but the Cuban-born slugger has definitely gotten the best of Orioles’ right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez in their previous bouts, putting together a .389/.476/.444 slash line across 21 plate appearances. Another enticing aspect of this play is Jimenez's struggles (0-6, 6.38 ERA) during his first year in the hitter’s haven that is Camden Yards.

Nick Castellanos 3B/ DET ($2,400) - Though the first two months of his rookie campaign were certainly nothing to write home about, Castellanos's bat is telling a different story in June. The 22-year-old third baseman is batting .329 with nine doubles over 20 games so far this month. He's never faced Rangers southpaw Joe Saunders, but currently sporting an .872 OPS versus lefties this season, he might end up enjoying their first meeting Wednesday night in Arlington

Logan Morrison 1B / SEA ($2,300) - Just two days ago, Morrison threw down a four-hit effort that included two homers and four RBI. The oft-injured 26-year-old could well be in store for another such outburst as he squares off with Boston’s Clay Buchholz, who will be making his first start at the major league level in nearly a month after suffering a hyperextended knee back on May 26. Morrison has stepped into the box versus the Red Sox righty just a half-dozen times in his career, but he has dominated the majority of those battles with two doubles and a couple of long balls.
