EPL DFS Lineup Picks for FanDuel (6/23/20) - English Premier League Soccer

Vince's FanDuel EPL DFS lineup picks for English Premier League soccer on 6/23/20. His top daily fantasy soccer forwards, midfielders, defenders, goalkeepers.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We have two more English Premier League games Tuesday! This seems to be the new norm to have several midweek slates with some single-game contests as well. Manchester City ran through Burnley 5-0 on Monday. While we do have two home favorites - Leicester City and Tottenham - on this slate, seeing another team score that many goals here would be shocking. These will be the first two games of Matchweek 31 out of 38.

This will only be a small 2-game slate meaning you will need to prioritize the better plays on the slate and make some sacrifices with value plays. On Tuesday, that will mean focusing on Leicester and Tottenham plays and using West Ham and Brighton guys mostly for value plays. Keep reading this breakdown for my DFS soccer picks on RotoBaller and see how to have success on Friday's slate.

With the Bundesliga completely binned on FanDuel, I will be turning my focus to solely EPL now. If you want to chop it up with myself and other Rotoballer writers, consider becoming a premium member and joining our ever-growing community of DFS and fantasy sports enthusiasts! In this article, I will be providing you with my English Premier League daily fantasy soccer lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/23/20 for the slate that locks at 1:00 pm ET. Be sure to also check out our other DFS lineup picks for other active sports. You can always find me on Twitter @vdray5 if you have any questions. Good luck, RotoBallers!

EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview

Leicester City vs Brighton

The early game on Tuesday features Leicester (-0.5) coming off a disappointing draw against a bottom-half Watford team. They get another chance to close in on their UCL qualifying spot with Brighton on Tuesday who sit in 15th. They are only small favorites, but they should control this game at home. This game sets up perfectly for Leicester to bounce-back after their draw over the weekend. Leicester attackers will garner a decent amount of ownership on this slate. The goal total over/under is a modest 2.5.

Tottenham vs West Ham

Tottenham will get another home game here after their 1-1 draw against Manchester United last week. West Ham was not playing well before the break, and in their first game back, they lost to Wolverhampton 2-0. With Tottenham's attacking group essentially fully healthy now, this is a prime spot to stack. There will be some nice West Ham value plays on this slate with the way Tottenham allow peripherals. Getting a full stack of this game is even a viable GPP strategy. The goal total over/under is also 2.5 in this game.

*A quick note: EPL scoring on FanDuel has stayed the same as it was pre-COVID. This means that chances created are back to being worth three points and crosses will not give you any points.

FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders

Getting at least one of Harry Kane ($23) or Son Heung-Min ($22) will be a smart decision on Tuesday. They have a great matchup at home against a West Ham team that is allowing 2.2 goals per game on the road since Christmas. They have not shut out their opponent in any game on the road since then either. Kane rates out at the second most likely projected starter to score on this slate, and Son is the third. Son has been getting significantly more peripherals than Kane this season, and that remains true even as of late. We will see who starts the game, but Steve Bergwjin ($17) and Dele Alli ($16) are both great secondary Tottenham plays. They're both listed at +200 or better to score, and they have fair floors with peripherals and assist upside.

Jamie Vardy ($20) leads the entire slate in anytime scoring odds at -125. He still leads the league in goals scored this season with 19 even having only scored twice since Christmas (both in the same game against Aston Villa). This helped bring his price down enough where he can easily be paired with Kane/Son. He can also serve as your A1 guy. He has a good matchup here at home against a Brighton team that is allowing 1.7 goals per game on the road this season. James Maddison ($18) is relevant on this slate. He can serve as your secondary Leicester attacker with Vardy, or he can be played as a lone Leicester guy. He is doing a little bit of everything right now which strengthens his floor. However, he really needs to find himself with a goal or assist to pay off. Good thing for us is this is a matchup he can perform well in. As Leicester's starting lineup projects now, Wilfred Ndidi ($13) is the only other player to consider here. His floor based off defensive stats is as good as midfielder's. If Ayoze Perez ($16) or Kelechi Iheanacho ($15) can break into the starting lineup, they would be good plays with their goal upside especially on a site like FanDuel.

I see no reason to take much of a chance on any Brighton attacker in this matchup. Yves Bissouma ($13) does strike some interest as a one-off with the way he has collecting peripheral stats since his playing time was increased.

The same goes for West Ham attackers. Like Bissouma, Declan Rice ($13) also grabs some attention on Tuesday for his peripherals. He's been super steady all season with his floor, and this is actually a really good matchup against Tottenham who allow plenty of peripherals. He has had a handful of 20+ games with solely peripherals this season. That is not out of the question here.

FanDuel DFS Defenders

With the way Tottenham allows opposing defenders to rack up defensive stats, you will want to look at some West Ham defenders on Tuesday. Jeremy Ngakia ($12) is the best value of the bunch. He has started each of West Ham's last five games averaging 10.9 FanDuel points. He might be a tad overpriced, but he should far well in this matchup. Issa Diop ($14) is definitely overpriced with his two recent goals, however, he does have a higher ceiling than Ngakia with peripherals alone if you can find a way to sacrifice the additional $2.

Ben Davies ($8) is on the radar this week since he's the cheapest projected starting defender. He had a decent game against United which is albeit a brutal matchup. He has a better matchup here and might be able to add a few chances created even. Tottenham defenders also have a nice chance at the extra 5-point clean sheet bonus in this game. Serge Aurier ($15) again has one of the highest attacking ceilings for any defender on the slate. His price jumped up $1 with his assist against Manchester United. He does not need to be forced in at that price, but if you can find enough value at FWD/MID, he is a nice play. Personally, I would prioritize four elite TOT/LEI attackers over Aurier.

Ben Chilwell ($15) is right up there with Aurier as far as ceilings go for defenders on this slate. However, like Aurier as well, it's tough to pay $15 for a defender on a small slate and feel confident in your attackers. Caglar Soyuncu ($11) and Jonny Evans ($10) have been two of the better defender value plays all season. This matchup is not great, but they should get enough defensive peripherals and they have enough of a chance at a clean sheet bonus to make up for an average matchup.

FanDuel DFS Goalkeepers

Kasper Schmeichel ($13) and Hugo Lloris ($12) will be the only two goalkeepers worthy of consideration on Tuesday. They're both home favorites, so they should each be in line for the win bonus. They are also facing two offenses that have not scored well on the road this season. Schmeichel faces Brighton who have only score 15 goals in 15 away games. Lloris has an even better matchup against West Ham who have only scored 12 goals in 15 away games. If they can add in a handful of saves, they'll finish with well over 20 fantasy points.

Thanks for reading my first EPL DFS lineup picks breakdown on RotoBaller and good luck!
