Welcome back, RotoBallers! The first game of Matchday 10 is Friday afternoon, which means we have a nice single-game DFS slate to enjoy on Black Friday as Thanksgiving weekend begins. I will be breaking down that game in full for you here. Keep reading this breakdown for my DFS soccer picks on RotoBaller and see how to have success on Friday's slate.

EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview
Crystal Palace vs Newcastle
Our Black Friday game sets Newcastle traveling to South London to take on Crystal Palace (+130). Neither side is coming into this game in particularly good form each with two losses in their last four games. They are also both struggling to score having both been shutout twice in their last three games. This is going to be a tightly-contested game with action on both ends. There might not be many goals though with the goal total over/under of only 2.0.
FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders
Callum Wilson ($15) is the leader in anytime scoring odds on this slate at +160, and he has been pretty good this year with six goals already. However, I am concerned about this matchup for him. Crystal Palace have been one of the better defensive teams at home in recent years, and this year appears to be no different. They have only allowed four goals in four games at Selhurst Park. Additionally, Newcastle are struggling to score away from home with only 1.0 goals per game. Only two of Wilson's six goals in the league this season have come on the road as well. I do not think I will be paying this much for him.
It appears as though Wilfred Zaha ($14) will miss another game as he is in self-isolation right now, and Jordan Ayew ($15) is not in good form. I do like Andros Townsend ($12) a good bit. In fact, I like him enough to recommend considering him for the MVP spot. He only has one goal and two assists on the season, but he is getting other meaningful peripherals like chances created and shots on goal. In a game with a low total where goals could be scarce, I like the idea of Townsend's safe floor getting 1.5x points in the MVP spot. Additionally, his goal upside is still solid at +350 to score.
I like Michy Batshuayi ($13) as well for Palace. Vegas has him at +179 to score, and he will be leading the line for Palace in a good spot without Zaha. His floor can be dangerously low though, which makes him a risky MVP candidate.
Another Palace play I like is Cheikhou Kouyate ($6). His goal upside is very slim, but his ability to get peripherals especially in a game like this cannot go overlooked. Kouyate has finished with double digits in 7/9 games this year. His steady peripheral-based floor is going to be valuable on this slate, and he is very affordable.
The last Palace attacker I'm looking at is Eberechi Eze ($8). Watching him this season you can just see his confidence growing game-by-game. He had a 40+ point game against Leeds two games ago, and currently sits at +300 to score in this one. He will have more of a role in the attack without Zaha.
For Newcastle, Jonjo Shelvey ($7) is a good play. He has a decent floor, and he definitely comes with some upside as one of their main creators in the midfield. He has not created that many chances yet this year, but if Newcastle get on the front foot and force Palace to sit in and defend, Shelvey will be able to create some chances and turn in a nice fantasy performance.
FanDuel DFS Defenders
The group of defenders we have to pick from on Friday are pretty poor fantasy-wise. Patrick van Aanholt ($9) is the top defender to get from an attacking upside perspective. He had a delayed start to his season with an injury earlier, but he has a good matchup on Friday to show us some of his attacking ability. In the only home game he has played so far this season, PvA scored 16.9 fantasy points against Leeds. Newcastle's defense is not strong, so PvA is a good pay-up option on this slate.
Jamal Lewis ($6) is another defender in my player pool on Friday. He has been the most consistent defender on this entire slate when it comes to defensive peripherals. He does not rely heavily on any one stat which generally makes for a safe floor. This is a good matchup for him on the road against a team like Palace that allows a good amount of defensive action. He also has been creating ~1 chance per game which boosts his appeal compared to many other defenders on this slate.
Ciaran Clark ($4) is also a solid play on this slate. Any minimum priced defender on a single game slate is worth a look. Clark has only played one game this season, but in the past, he has been a steady collector of defensive peripherals. Like Lewis, I am a fan of this matchup for Clark against Palace. In a vacuum, I would take Lewis over Clark. However, if the $2 savings with Clark helps you make a meaningful upgrade elsewhere, then I like the pivot.
