DraftKings NFL DFS Lineup Picks for Week 5

Welcome to Week 5 of the NFL season. There are tons of contests on both major DFS sites, and this is the time of year to cash in. Below are my DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for Week 5.

These DraftKings lineup recommendations are based on match ups, recent performances, overall upside/talent levels, and other factors such as Vegas odds, home field advantage, and more. There are still quite a few great value plays available, so read on to find out which players are the best for Week 5.

Good luck with your DraftKings DFS lineups!

Editor's Note: The FFPC Playoff Challenge #2 is back with a massive $100,000 grand prize and $203,250 total prize pool, paying down to 100th place. Here's the deal: no salary cap, no draft, no pickups, no subs. Choose 8 players, and as NFL teams get knocked out so will your players, so choose your team wisely. The entries will sell out quickly, and registrations will close on Saturday January 17th at 4:30 pm ET . Don't wait - get your team now and end your fantasy football season with a shot at $100,000! DraftKings DFS Quarterbacks - Week 5 Picks

Jacoby Brissett - IND vs SF (DK $5,600)

Brissett is coming off a rough week against the Seahawks, but he is in a great spot to bounce back at home. He is up against the 49ers, who have the 26th DVOA against the pass, and have shown they have trouble stopping the deep ball. Brissett is a young QB who has flashed the upside against bad teams, most notably, two weeks ago against the Browns, where he put up 27 DraftKings points. He is a dual threat QB, and can make plenty of plays alone, and always has the potential to run one in. If you like spending down at QB, Brissett is a great option, which will allow you plenty of salary flexibility to fit in a high price running back or receiver.

Aaron Rodgers - GB @ DAL (DK $8,100)

If you want to pay up at quarterback this week, there is no reason to dance around, go with Rodgers. He has 20 or more DraftKings points in every game this season, and will be up against the Cowboys who have the 21st DVOA against the pass. Rodgers gives you consistent multi touchdown upside, along with a shot at the 300 yard bonus every game. This game has an over under of 52.5 points, which is the highest of the remaining games, so we are expecting a shootout. You should 100% pair him with a receiver, so you can double dip on the points, Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb make great plays.

DraftKings DFS Running Backs - Week 5 Picks

Melvin Gordon - LAC @ NYG (DK $6,000)

Gordon didn't have the best game last week vs the Eagles, but he is in a spot to bounce back. He is on the road vs the Giants who have 31st DVOA against the rush, and the 19th DVOA against running backs in the passing game. He is $1K cheaper than he was last week, and has seen 72% of all rushing attempts by the Chargers. He is seemingly going overlooked by some this week, and not sure why. He gets goal line carries, sees work in the passing game, he does it all. Great in any format this week against a lackluster Giants defense.

Andre Ellington - ARI @ PHI (DK $4,600)

Ellington has seen eight or more targets in each of the past two weeks, which has lead to 13 or more DraftKings points over that span. The Cardinals are road dogs in this game, which means, according to Vegas, they will be down. This leads them to passing the ball more, and thus, puts Ellington in a great spot. For his price, he only needs to get 13 points to hit value for a cash game, and that is certainly doable this week. He is up against the Eagles who have the 21st DVOA against running backs in the passing game, making this match up all the more favorable.

DraftKings DFS Wide Receivers - Week 5 Picks

Devante Parker - MIA vs TEN (DK $6,600)

Although the the Dolphins have only put up six points in the last two weeks, they are in a spot to bounce back this week. They are up against the Titans who have the 31st DVOA overall, which puts them in a spot to bounce back. Parker has seen eight or more targets in each of the last three weeks, with six plus receptions in two straight weeks. Due to the volume he is seeing, he is viable in both cash and GPP. The Titans' secondary was burned over the past two weeks, by the opposing team's top receiver, and we should see much of the same this week.

Aldrick Robinson - SF @ IND (DK $3,100)

Robinson is in a great spot if Marquise Goodwinis out due to his concussion issues. Robinson is basically minimum salary on DraftKings, which will open up your lineup, so you can fit in two high priced position players. He is up against the Colts, who have the 24th DVOA against the pass, and with both of these defenses being so bad, we could be in for a shootout. Robinson is viable in any format with his cheap price and salary savings.

DraftKings DFS Tight Ends - Week 5 Picks

Martellus Bennett - GB @ DAL (DK $4,100)

There was a report that came out earlier in the week, where Aaron Rodgers said he needs to do a better job of getting Bennett involved in the passing game. In a game that has an over under set at 52.5 points, this makes Bennett a very interesting option. They story line sets up for him to be seeing the ball more, in a game which should be a shootout. Bennett has seen six or more targets in three of four games this season, and is up against Dallas who has the 15th DVOA against tight ends.

DraftKings DFS Defenses - Week 5 Picks

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Jacksonville Jaguars (DK $3,900)

The Steelers are the highest priced defense on the board this week, but they are at home against a turnover prone Jaguars team. Any time the Jaguars are on the road, and Blake Bortles is behind center, he is prone to turnovers. The Steelers defense has double digit points in two of four games this season, and have four or more sacks in two of four games. They are pressuring the QB, which will lead to rushed throws, something that Bortles struggles with. They are expensive, but clearly the best match up on paper this week.
