DraftKings MLB Lineup Picks (9/11/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Thunder Dan Palyo highlights the top DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks for 9/11/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Hello again, RotoBallers, and thanks for checking out my article. A lot of folks in the industry are squarely focused on football, but I play MLB DFS every day THROUGH the World Series. There are no NFL games today, anyways, so why not make some money playing baseball, right? Never forget what happened to the U.S. twenty years ago, either, as today marks the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the 8-game DraftKings main slate on 9/11/21. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate.

You can also check out today's FanDuels MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Without any further ado, let's get to it!

DraftKings DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Charlie Morton - ATL vs. MIA ($8,000)

DK either fell asleep at the wheel or they are playing a sick joke on us with this Morton price. Charlie is facing the Marlins for the sixth time this season and while he struggled against them in his first three starts, he's been dominant in the last two striking out 16 fish over 13 innings and allowing only two runs. This should be the chalk pitching play today with the other higher-priced pitchers in tougher spots. Don't overthink it! The Marlins are implied for only 2.9 runs and Morton brings a solid K-projection today of 6-8 strikeouts. He should get the job done and pick up the win along the way.

Alternate Play(s)

Dylan Cease - CHW vs. BOS ($9,600)

Cease is the second-most expensive pitcher on the slate and faces a good Boston team, which should keep his ownership down. I was furious with him last week when he allowed three runs to the lowly Royals in the first inning, but he still managed to come back and score 19 DK points by striking out nine Royals over five innings. He now has four double-digit strikeout games over his last ten starts and you're going to be hard-pressed to find another pitcher with as much K-upside as Cease on this slate.

Other pitching options: Brady Singer ($6,000) @ MIN

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Salvador Perez - C, KCR @ MIN ($5,500)

Perez's career year continues and his price finally dropped back into the mid 5k range after he spent a few slates up over 6k. Yes, 6 THOUSAND dollars for a catcher was crazy, right? But honestly, he's been worth paying up for as he's a threat to go yard every night and has been providing a solid floor, too, as he's only failed to register any points ONCE over his last 16 games. Pineda is a pitcher with a fly-ball tendency and some home run issues, I'm here for all the Salvy today.

Jared Walsh - 1B, LAA @ HOU ($4,400)

Walsh had himself a night on Friday, going 2-3 with a homer, double, walk, and two runs scored - good for 23 DK points. I don't check BvP often, but I was curious if these LAA hitters had seen Garcia yet and I quickly saw that Walsh is 5-7 against him in 11 plate appearances with two homers. With most people being on Garcia and not the Angels, I'm fine going the other way and playing some Angels bats here instead.

Javier Baez - 2B, NYM vs. NYY ($4,900)

Baez has been arguably the best hitter in the Mets lineup over the last week and is coming off two really good games on Thursday and Friday nights. The Yankees are rolling out Corey Kluber, who has not looked sharp in his first two starts back from the IL as he's allowed seven earned runs on nine hits (including two homers) over 7.2 frames. He's walking too many guys, too. Baez is getting on base, is a threat to steal, and of course a guy with massive power as well.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Aaron Judge - OF, NYY @ NYM ($5,300)

Taijuan Walker fooled a lot of people in the first half of the season into thinking he was a good pitcher. It turns out, he's NOT and he's gone 0-6 with a 6.33 ERA over his last nine starts going back to mid-July. He's also shown some pretty severe reverse splits as right-handers have hurt him a lot this year, making Judge (and Stanton) excellent plays here tonight. I will go with Judge here as my recommendation, but I don't mind stacking the Yanks tonight or playing their big bats as one-offs either.

Michael Conforto - OF, NYM vs. NYY ($3,500)

I mentioned earlier that Kluber has labored through his first two starts and that I like the Mets here. Conforto provides some really cheap exposure to this spot and is one of the cheaper cleanup hitters you'll find on this slate. He's been in pretty good form lately, too, as he's making considerably more contact (and better quality contact) than he was earlier this season.

Jarred Kelenic – OF, SEA vs. ARI ($2,900)

Wow, I love this price on the Seattle rookie and I think we need to continue to buy low on him when he can in good spots. His season-long average is still hard to look at (.163) but he's hitting .250 in September with a homer, five RBI, and four runs scored. Castellanos is definitely one of the lesser pitchers on the slate and I want some exposure to this Seattle offense.
