DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks (4/29/24): NHL DFS Lineups

Nikita Kucherov - NHL DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Hockey

Jon Irvin's NHL DFS picks for today's contests on FanDuel and DraftKings. Use Jon's picks to win money playing NHL DFS on 4/29/23.

Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally, my name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in the MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays. I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.

Welcome back to the discount rack! Today's DFS content will be for the NHL Playoffs for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, April 29th, 2024. We're nearing the end of Round 1 tonight with some teams trying to stay alive, mainly TB who's on the verge of elimination.

NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 4/29/24

Playoff hockey is a little different than the regular season, I shy away from specific line matching and concentrate more on players' TOI. Ultimately we are looking for the most opportunities to accrue fantasy points, those opportunities only present themselves with ample time on ice. I've been sticking more with showdowns than the entire slate which fits my style more.  Don't be afraid to fade goalies in lineup construction, with the price of netminders sky-high, there seems to be too much risk for the reward. Here are a few lineups I've put together to give you an idea of how I construct things.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Andrei Vasilevskiy TBL - DK $7.2K || FD $6.5K

Opponent - Florida Panthers

Tampa is on the verge of elimination and needs a big game from Vasilevskiy. Florida has peppered the net all season and a consistent shot volume should be in play tonight as well.

Others to consider: Semyon Varlamov VGK (DK $7.8K || FD $8.0K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Anton Lundell - DK $4.1K || FD $5.0K

Opponent - Tampa Bay Lightning

With Sam Bennett on the shelf, Lundell gets a chance to jump to the second line pairing skating with Vergaeghe and Tkachuk which is a huge boost. Anton also skates on the 2nd PP unit giving him more TOI which as we stated before is key.

Others to consider: Nicholas Paul (DK $4.0K || FD $6.2K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Brandon Hagel TBL - DK $4.7K || FD $6.4K

Florida continues to give ample amount of PP opportunities to their foes. Tampa has one of the best PP units in the league, Hagel has now flipped with Paul and sits on the top unit. Brandon should have a great chance to get a secondary assist at least playing with the big guns a man up.

Opponent - Florida Panthers

Others to consider:Logan Stankoven (DK $3.6K || FD $5.2K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

For our defenseman, we're going to concentrate on both sides of the Vegas vs Dallas matchup.  Both teams are filled with blueliners that eat up a lot of minutes and are active both in shots and blocks.

Chris Tanev DAL - DK $3.4K || FD $4.0K

Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights

Tanev has been eating up minutes and blocking shots at a great rate for how cheap he still is. We don't need Chris to light the lamp tonight to hit value. Block bonus on DK is a high probability.

Others to consider: Mikhail Sergachev TBL (DK $3.2K || FD $3.5K)
