DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks (2/12/24): NHL DFS Lineups

Jon Irvin's NHL DFS picks for today's contests on FanDuel and DraftKings. Use Jon's picks to win money playing NHL DFS on 1/22/23.

Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally, my name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in the MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays. I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform. We now have enough data to focus on positive and negative trends by implementing my trend chart where I look at both L25 and L10 to help see which teams are trending in which direction.

Welcome back to the discount rack! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, February 12, 2024. Thankfully we have a four-game slate to break down this week after a few Mondays with just a game or two. Now that the NFL is over, we can concentrate even more attention on the frozen pond and less on Taylor Swift.

After reading this, jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel and chat it up with all the other great minds about today's slate. Don’t forget to check out our valuable NHL tools, including the new NHL DFS Heat Map.

NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 2/12/24

As stated earlier, I have begun to implement my personal trend chart. Below, you'll see stats that reflect the average of L25 and L10. This happens to weigh L10 heavier, which tightens our sample and shows both positive and negative trends.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Jacob Markstrom - DK $7.2K || FD $7.0K

Opponent - New York Rangers

There are not a ton of goalie value options on a four-game slate though we may have a netminder finding his stride.  Jacob Markstrom used to be a top tier goalie but has had his struggles over the past year, maybe he's seeing the puck better or maybe he's just trying to punch his ticket to a contending team. Either way Markstrom has found his mark, especially on the road (see below), ride the hot hand at a discount while you can.

Others to consider: Joey Daccord (DK $7.4K || FD $7.5K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Yanni Gourde- DK $3.7K || FD $4.7K

Opponent -New Jersey Devils

I haven't been this excited for Yanni since he played at the Acropolis, whoops - sorry wrong Yanni! Yanni Gourde and the rest of his linemates on SEA3 are coming in hot over their L10 away games in terms of SC and HDCF/60.  The metrics are there for a blowup game especially when you take into account their expected goal differential is teetering close to 2 goals.  His wingers come at a price so running Gourde will help keep down the cost of a full stack.

Others to consider: Ryan Poehling (DK $3.1K || FD $4.0K )

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Noah Cates - DK $2.6K || FD $3.3K

Opponent -Arizona Coyotes

Now Cates offers little besides 5v5 time but when he gets on the ice he's been putting himself in the right position especially L10 at home. Even at only 10 minutes TOI, 18 HDCF shouldn't be ignored, teamed with Poehling, Cates could be the source of a cheap goal.

Others to consider: Jason Zucker ( DK $3.4K || FD $4.7K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Nick Seeler - DK $3.6K || FD $3.9K

Opponent -San Jose Sharks

Now this spot was initially reserved for Egor Zamula but it seems he's going to be left off today I'll stick with the Flyers.  Seeler has been a shot-blocking machine as of late, hitting the 3-block bonus in four straight games as well as 8 of the last 10.

Others to consider: Zach Bogosian (DK $2.8K || FD $3.8K)

Below I've included a chart of defensemen over the past month concentrating more on peripheral floors rather than relying on goals/assists.
