DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks (11/27/23): NHL DFS Lineups

Jon Irvin's NHL DFS picks for today's contests on FanDuel and DraftKings. Use Jon's picks to win money playing NHL DFS on 11/27/23.

Hey, Rotoballers! I want to introduce myself formally, my name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down dfs slates especially in MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low owned overlooked, and unwanted plays. I predominantly play on DraftKings so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.  By now we're a few weeks into the season and most teams have played at least ten games which begins to strengthen positive and negative trends.  I have started to implement my trend chart where I look at both L25 as well as L10 to help see which teams are trending in which direction.

Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, November 27th, 2023. The NHL has graced us with another half-decent slate, six games is the perfect size to not have to worry about chalk stacks and fitting in key ceiling skates. San Jose is on home ice tonight facing the Caps, the perceived punching bag will surely garner attention, but I should note that over L10 they have tightened things down and not the same team that gave up 10 goals in back-to-back games earlier this season.

After reading this, jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel and chat it up with all the other great minds about today's slate. Don’t forget also to check out our valuable NHL tools including the new NHL DFS Heat Map.

NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 11/27/23

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, catching up with family and friends while stuffing yourself to the max.  Tonight we get to catch up with some familiar faces that I may have mentioned in the past.  I'm not afraid to keep hitting the well until it runs dry, capitalizing on hot streaks is key in any sport, especially in the NHL.  It's brother versus brother in Ottawa tonight with Brady Tkachuk hosting brother Matt and the Florida Panthers.  The Senators have been on a downward slide in terms of xGA and SCA, this should be a great get-right spot for Florida and will be a solid priority spot for your main stack.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

I often preach paying down at the goalie spot.  Searching for high save possibilities and a chance to hit the 35 save bonus, especially on DK. Yesterday we had another perfect example with Elvis Merzlikins facing the Hurricanes.  Even though he gave up three goals in a regulation loss, the 40 saves were enough to carry him to almost 3x value.

MacKenzie Blackwood DK $7.1K || FD $6.9K

Opponent - Washington Capitals

I must admit the thought of running a Sharks goalie, and one with a save percentage below .900 and a GAA creeping close to 3.75, tends not to be a wise decision on most days.  I pointed out above that SJ has tightened things up a notch while allowing a decent shot volume.  The Capitals haven't shown us much to worry about, Blackwood should have a chance at 35 saves and also garner low ownership.

Others to consider: Adin Hill ( DK $7.6K || FD $8.5K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Ross Colton DK $4.1K || FD $5.0K (Winger)

Colton is one of our first familiar faces in today's value article. Centering one of my favorite value lines tonight in COL3, Ross along with Miles Wood and Logan O'Connor have been electric on home ice with all the defensive attention towards stopping MacKinnon and the top line. Colton also finds himself on the second PP unit for an Avs team that is third in the league for PP TOI.

Opponent - Tampa Bay Lightning

Others to consider: Matthew Poitras ( DK $3.3K || FD $4.5K )

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Jake DeBrusk - DK $3.9K || FD $4.7K

Jake DeBrusk should not be sub 4K. I repeat Jake DeBrusk should not be sub 4K.  DeBrusk has found a home on L3 with Matthew Poitras, we have seen when Jake gets hot he can be one of the best wingers in the league. Getting to face Columbus coming off a tough loss yesterday, DeBrusk should find himself in a great chance to score his third goal in four games.

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Alexis Lafreniere - DK $4.1K || FD $5.6K

Lafreniere is prototypical boom or bust goal dependent winger.  Paired with his linemates, Alexis is pivotal in running a full NYR2 stack, usually at low ownership taboot.

Opponent - Buffalo Sabers

Others to consider: Blake Coleman ( DK $3.8K || FD $5.2K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Ben Hutton - DK $2.5K || FD $3.7K

With the loss of Shea Theodore and the possibility of being without Alec Martinez, Vegas is running low on blueliners which is good news for us. Tonight we have a few options for the visiting squad all 3k or below on DK, highlighted by min-priced Hutton. Ben saw over 20 min TOI last game without both d-men out as well as finding himself on the second PP unit. With the ability to put up a few shots, Hutton should easily produce a nice source of value.

Opponent - Calgary Flames

Others to consider: Derek Forbort (DK $2.9K || FD $3.7K )

JIrv’s Discount Stacks and Sample Lineups

Either running a full COL3 or BOS3, teamed with a discounted goalie, will give you enough salary to easily run FLA1. Don't be afraid to go off the beaten path and distinguish yourself from the masses, and as always good luck Rotoballers!
