DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks (11/18/24): NHL DFS Lineups

Jon Irvin's NHL DFS picks for today's contests on FanDuel and DraftKings. Use Jon's picks to win money playing NHL DFS on 11/18/24.

Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in the MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.

I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.

Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends. We're so glad you could attend. Come inside! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, November 18th, 2024, at 7:00 PM EDT. Tonight we have a nice 6-game slate featuring both Colorado and Edmonton in appealing spots, the problem is those guys are pricey. Let's take a look at what value we can find to fit in either McDavid or MacKinnon.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards.

Lukas Dostal - DK $7.0K || FD $6.9K

Opponent - Dallas Stars

Now this is a tough call today, Dostal is my tried and true discount goalie on most slates. The shot volume he sees on a night basis allows us to eat a goal or two with a strong chance at the 35 save bonus. Tonight though Dostal faces a tough Stars team especially L2. I fully expect Lukas to give up a few goals but with ANA allowing over 36 sog 5v5 and DAL shooting the puck over 32 times 5v5, the possibility that Dostal faces over 40 sog is high. That's exactly what we search for, especially on DK.

Others to consider: MacKenzie Blackwood (DK $8.1K || FD $7.2K )

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

 Nick Bjugstad - DK $3.2K || FD $4.5K

Opponent - Washington Capitals

Bjugstad has done a fair job centering ANA L1, especially at home, and now welcomes in a Capitals team on the back end of a back-to-back, and third road game in 4 days. Now Nick doesn't have a high ceiling with no PP TOI, but he is active enough to supply us with a few sog and a block or two.

Others to consider:  Jake Evans (DK $2.7K || FD $4.3K )

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Justin Brazeau - DK $3.0K || FD $4.2K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Young Justin has been able to cut his teeth on the top 6 up in Boston. Skating on the second line with Brad Marchland and Elias Lindholm has put Brazeau in a good spot to accumulate points on the cheap. Even though he's only getting a little over 11 mins TOI 5v5, Boston spreads their time out over all 4 lines with Pastrnak the only forward skating over 12 mins. Brazeau also sees time on the PP2 unit, giving yet another avenue for success. On home ice, he has an almost 2 GF differential with all metrics pointing to a lamplight soon.

Others to consider:  Jamie Benn (DK $3.8K || FD $4.9K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

 Egor Zamula - DK $2.7K || FD $3.8K

Opponent - Colorado Avalanche

Already without Cam York, Jamie Drysdale, and Ryan Ellis, Philadelphia's blue line keeps getting thinner with the potential loss of Emil Andrae. In steps Egor Zamula, if Andrea happens to miss Monday night, Zamula should be in line for a big jump in minutes in all aspects 5v5, PP, and PK. With Colorado in town, Zamula should see plenty of chances to block a few shots as well.

Others to consider: Rasmus Ristolainen (DK $2.8K || FD $3.8K)

Don't be afraid to go off the beaten path and distinguish yourself from the masses, and as always, good luck, RotoBallers!
