DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks (10/28/24): NHL DFS Lineups

Connor McDavid - NHL DFS lineup picks daily fantasy hockey

Jon Irvin's NHL DFS picks for today's contests on FanDuel and DraftKings. Use Jon's picks to win money playing NHL DFS on 10/28/23.

Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally, my name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in the MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.

I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends we're so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, October 28th, 2024 brought to you by the letter C and the name Connor.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Value in net is key on DK with a 3-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards.

Connor Hellebuyck - DK $7.8K || FD $8.3K

Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs

Connor is off to a great start for the Jets sporting a 6-0-0 record with a .940 SV% while only allowing a 1.66 GAA. Remarkable numbers that could be tested tonight against a tough Toronto squad. The shot volume should be over 30 and being priced under 8k is always a bargain for that amount of puck action.

Others to consider: Woll/Stolarz (DK $7.6K || FD $7.2K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Mikael Backlund - DK $3.9K || FD $5.1K

If you've been an active follower you should recognize this name. Backlund and the rest of CGY3 have been a valued staple for the past two years, this season is nothing different. Backlund not only has an xGF differential of over a goal but the entire line has an xGF of +.73. With exposure on the PP unit, Mikael has an excellent chance to hit value especially if matched up vs a suspect VGK2/3.

Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights

Others to consider: Jack Drury (DK $2.6K || FD $3.7K )

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

 Jackson Blake - DK $2.5K || FD $3.5K

Opponent -Vancouver Canucks

I hinted earlier with my other consideration of my interest in CAR4. Usually, we don't dive down to the depths of the 4th line but CAR4 is making the most out of their TOI. Both Drury and Blake also have been seeing time on the PP unit, with the Canucks attempting to control the Hurricanes' top lines, CAR4 could sneak under the radar and provide enormous value to fit in our top studs.

Jeff Skinner / Viktor Arvidsson - DK $4.6/$4.5K || FD $6.2/5.3K

Both value Oiler wingers should be included in any EDM stack if you're pivoting off the McDavid line. Skinner is anchoring L3 while Arvidsson is skating aside a scorching Leo. With PP exposure, these guys are priced too low for breakout potential.

Others to consider: Connor Zary (DK $3.4K || FD $5.3K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Brent Burns - DK $3.8K || FD $6.0K

Opponent - Colorado Avalanche

Elder statesman, old man Burns has been around for eons and may be showing some of his age but not enough of a decline to be priced under 4k. Brent fills all categories and plays on both PP and PK units. Oh, by the way, he leads the Hurricanes with a 5.25 xGF/60.

Others to consider: Chris Tanev (DK $3.4K || FD $4.6K)

JIrv’s Discount Stacks and Sample Lineups

CAR 4 (Drury/Blake/Carrier)

Don't be afraid to go off the beaten path and distinguish yourself from the masses, and as always, good luck RotoBallers!
