DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks (1/22/24): NHL DFS Lineups

Drew Doughty NHL DFS lineup picks daily fantasy hockey

Jon Irvin's NHL DFS picks for today's contests on FanDuel and DraftKings. Use Jon's picks to win money playing NHL DFS on 1/22/23.

Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally, my name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in the MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays. I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform. We now have enough data to focus on positive and negative trends by implementing my trend chart where I look at both L25 and L10 to help see which teams are trending in which direction.

Welcome back to the discount rack! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, January 22, 2024. Tonight we have a fun 6-game slate filled with interesting matchups and a few perceived cupcake spots. With BOS1, VAN1, PIT1, FLA2, and WPG1, all expensive stacks on the docket, we're going to need to find those key values playing on great lines to help afford the top stacks.

After reading this, jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel and chat it up with all the other great minds about today's slate. Don’t forget to check out our valuable NHL tools, including the new NHL DFS Heat Map.

NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 1/22/24

As stated earlier, I have begun to implement my personal trend chart. Below, you'll see stats that reflect the average of L25 and L10. This happens to weigh L10 heavier, which tightens our sample and shows both positive and negative trends.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Connor Ingram - DK $7.2K || FD $7.8K

Opponent - Pittsburgh Penguins

With little value for goalies on the slate, we revert back to shot volume at a discounted price. Ingram should see a decent shot volume tonight versus the Penguins. Connor has looked a little better on the road compared to home but still has stats that are hard to ignore and with an ARZ defense who have tightened up scoring opportunities, he's in a great spot to face a high volume of low danger shots.

Others to consider: Connor Hellebuyck (DK $7.3K || FD $8.4K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Nicolas Roy- DK $3.6K || FD $4.4K

Opponent - New Jersey Devils

With both Jack Eichel and William Karlsson on the shelf with injuries, Roy has found himself centering the top line for the Golden Knights. Now we have little data for the complete line 5v5 on the season but we can glance at what Roy has put up L10 games on the road.  The TOI should take a small spike which will greatly help him capitalize on both the high amount of SC and HDC generated. Roy also finds himself in a plus matchup verses the New Jersey Devils who have been on a defensive slide L10 compared to season-long stats.

Others to consider: Nils Aman (DK $2.5K || FD $3.4K )

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Pierre-Luc Dubois - DK $3.9K || FD $4.2K

Opponent -San Jose Sharks

We have another discount jumping up to the top line for Los Angeles.  Dubois has left his usual centering position to take Quinton Byfield's spot as an L1 winger with Kempe & Kopitar. Unfortunately were faced with another line that has very little sample size together, but tonight they get to face an abysmal San Jose Sharks team that bleeds chances.

Others to consider: Arthur Kaliyev ( DK $3.9K || FD $4.3K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Vladislav Gavrikov - DK $3.0K || FD $3.8K

Opponent -San Jose Sharks

The key with value, especially defenseman, is TOI, and that heavily favors Gavrikov. Vlad may not impale many pucks into the back of the net but he's a stat stuffer who finds himself on skating with the top two lines. In a great matchup versus the Sharks, he could easily find himself garnering a few shots and a chance at a point.

Others to consider: Jeremy Lauzon (DK $2.8K || FD $4.0K)
