NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 04/24/24

"I absolutely love the NHL playoffs, and I think the first round is the most exciting. The games are fast-paced and aggressive, and the coaches are always making strategic moves to match up their players. Below, I've listed some plays that I think will work well based on the matchups in game one, or what I expect to see in game three of the Boston/Toronto series."

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

 Jeremy Swayman -   DK $7.6K || FD $8.2K

Opponent -  Toronto Maple Leafs

As a Leafs fan, this hurts me to mention Swayman as an option, but it would be a very Leaf thing to do by following up a great performance in game 2 with a dreadful performance in game 3.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Jake Oettinger - DK $7.8K || FD 7.8K

Want more NHL DFS tools and content? Our NHL Premium package includes our daily DFS Cheat Sheets, Research Station, Lineup Optimizer, and access to our VIP Discord Chatrooms. Doug Shain (@BanksterDFS) joins the NHL team in 2023 with his proven track record - join in on the winning!

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Wyatt Johnston- DK 5.5$K || FD 7.2$K

Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights

During the game, the Johnston line mostly played against the third line from Vegas. They managed to score one goal and provide two assists while taking 10 shots on the night. Additionally, they had ten scoring chances, including five high-danger ones. The line was dominant throughout the game, and they could have easily scored a few more goals.

Anze Kopitar - 4.8DK $K || FD 6.7$K

Opponent - Edmonton Oilers

In the first game, Kopitar's line managed to avoid the Mattias Ekholm/Evan Bouchard pairing, which I believe is a weakness we should exploit. They put up one goal, two assists, and eleven shots, dominating the Oilers' bottom four defense players throughout the game. If the matchups remain the same in game 2, I think the Kings should focus on winning, and I expect Kopitar's line to lead them to victory tonight.

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Evander Kane - DK $6.9K || FD $7.7K

Opponent - Los Angeles Kings

The NHL playoffs are known for unsung heroes and third and fourth line players who step up to contribute big goals for their team. I understand that everyone will play the big boys for the Oilers, but in the first game, Kane played well while playing on the fourth line with Corey Perry. He managed to get six shots on the net, and playing against the Kings' bottom six players, he should have plenty of opportunities to score a goal.

Kevin Fiala - DK $5.4K || FD $6.9K

Opponent - Edmonton Oilers

The Kings are in desperate need of some scoring from their bottom six players, and Kevin Fiala is the perfect player for that job. He is known for going through periods of scoring heavily, and in game 1, he had some fantastic opportunities, finishing the game with three shots. When he played alongside Pierre-Luc Dubois and Quinton Byfield, they created numerous scoring opportunities and even managed to score a goal, so I hope they stick together for game 2.

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Miro Heiskanen - DK $4.9K || FD $6.7K

Opponent -Vegas Golden Knights

The Dallas team put on an impressive performance during the first game, and if Oettinger had made a save, they would have likely won. It is worth noting that the home team has won game 2 in 63% of cases after losing game 1. Therefore, the Stars cannot afford to lose this game and go to Vegas down 2-0. Heiskanen did a great job in the previous game with an assist, three shots, and three blocks, and he must repeat that performance in game 2.

Evan Bouchard  - DK $6.5K || FD $7.5K

Opponent -Los Angeles Kings

Bouchard is the most valuable defenceman for the Oilers due to his impressive skills. In game 1, he made four assists, three shots, and three blocks, which earned him an excellent 34.4 pts on DraftKings. If there is a three-game slate, I would include him in all of my lineups.
