DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (5/23/23): Today's Top NBA DFS Lineups

Jimmy Butler - NBA dfs lineup picks, daily fantasy basketball

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on May 23nd, 2023. Max Kulish provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! Tonight we've got the Heat trying to complete the sweep against the Celtics and book their spot in the finals. These articles focus on the overall best options for both captain (1.5x points on DK, 2x points on FD), and non-captain roster spots.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/23/23. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome new NBA injuries report tool as the slate can completely change before lineups lock.

As always, feel free to follow my Twitter (@Maxadelphia) to keep up-to-date with NBA news and for my nightly NBA bets if you're into that sort of thing. Let's go!

DraftKings (1.5x) and FanDuel (2x) Captain/MVP - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jimmy Butler, MIA - ($18,600 DK, $17,500 FD)

Butler has been lighting it up during these playoffs but posted his lowest scoring output of this post-season in Game 3. I can't imagine the Celtics look worse than they did in Game 3, and if this game is actually competitive in the fourth quarter, that's when Butler will look to take over.

Jayson Tatum, BOS - ($18,900 DK Captain; $17,000 FD)

With the Celtics' backs against the wall, I expect Jayson Tatum to have extremely high usage numbers tonight. Tatum has been hot and cold this post-season, to put it mildly, but he's a perennial double-double threat and will likely score 30+ real points, regardless of how many shots it takes.

Jaylen Brown, BOS - ($15,000 DK Captain; $13,500 FD)

Brown also figures to see (and shoot) a lot of the ball tonight with the Celtics facing elimination. He's already taking 20+ shots a game this series, so the volume is there already. He hasn't been shooting that well, but when evaluating ceiling outcomes, Brown clearly stands out as the #3 option.

DraftKings Utility/ FanDuel STAR (1.5x) Plays - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Malcolm Brogdon, BOS - ($6,800 DK; $8,500 FD)

The theme for the Celtics players featured tonight is "guys who stunk in Game 3, but I expect to bounce back tonight." Brogdon didn't score and played his lowest minutes total in Game 3, but as the old saying goes: buy low.

Caleb Martin, MIA - ($6,400 DK; $10,000 FD)

Martin has been the X-factor for the Heat this series. He's averaging over 33 DK ppg in the series while shooting over 60% from the field and almost 50% from 3. He'd be considered priced fairly for a normal slate, so with showdown pricing he projects as a great play.

Duncan Robinson, MIA- ($3,800 DK; $7,000 FD)

Robinson popped off for five 3's made last game, and after the last two games, he seems to have cemented himself in the Heat rotation as a spacing option. He's shooting well in the playoffs this year and has been better at home than on the road. I think he's the best value play on the slate.

ALSO CONSIDER: Bam Adebayo, MIA ($9,400 DK; $15,500 FD); Grant Williams, BOS ($2,400 DK; $6,500 FD)
