DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (4/14/23): Today's Top NBA DFS Lineups

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on April 14, 2023. Mike Marteny provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

We're set for another two-game play-in slate tonight. This is the last of the play-in tournament. The winners become sacrificial lambs for the Bucks and Nuggets. The losers get a ping-pong ball or three. Honestly, no one is surprised that the Thunder are on the cusp of another lottery pick, but the Timberwolves? They gave up the future for Rudy Gobert and flopped. Maybe they need those ping-pong balls.

In the East we have the Bulls, who like the Thunder, are about where they should be. Their opponent is the Heat, who should really be nowhere near the lottery. Can you tank in a play-in game? We're about to find out!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for the DraftKings and FanDuel slate beginning at 7 pm ET on 4/14/23. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome new NBA injuries report tool as the slate can completely change before lineups lock. Good luck RotoBallers!

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - PG, OKC at MIN ($10,400 DK, $10,900 FD)

It was Josh Giddey that extended the season for the Thunder on Wednesday, but SGA has had much more success against the Timberwolves this year. He racked up 159 fantasy points in three tilts with the Timberwolves compared to Giddey's 148 in four games. That doesn't mean much come playoff time though. I like Giddey's upside for the price, but SGA is going over 50 no matter what Giddey does. That keeps him in the top slot, but Giddey is a nice GPP pivot.

Tyler Herro - PG/SG, MIA vs. CHI ($7,100 DK, $7,600 FD)

You can chase Kyle Lowry's big game if you want, but that game with Butler out and he will likely be back tonight. Herro can put up points in a hurry regardless of if Butler is on the court or not. The Heat could still be a little thin at guard with Gabe Vincent really being questionable as opposed to Lowry's perpetual questionable designation. Herro is a nice GPP shot here considering he averaged 34.2 DraftKings points per game against the Bulls this year.

Alex Caruso - PG/SG, CHI at MIA ($5,000 DK, $4,800 FD)

Caruso played big minutes in the win over Toronto largely because he is the best perimeter defender that the Bulls have. That should lead to big minutes for Caruso again tonight. He can guard Herro if needed and I'm not sure Coby White can. There's not much for value at guard tonight, but Caruso is definitely worth a look if he's going to play 30+ minutes again.

Others to consider: Mike Conley, MIN vs. OKC ($6,800 DK, $6,500 FD)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jimmy Butler - SF/PF, MIA vs. CHI ($9,000 DK, $9,900 FD)

We all know that Jimmy Butler is just different once the playoffs hit. Butler averaged 27.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 17 playoff games last season alone for the Heat. Overall, Butler has averaged 20 points in every playoff game...that includes the four total minutes that he played in the 2011-12 playoffs as a rookie for the Bulls. The play-in is the playoff, so count on Jimmy to shine tonight.

Zach LaVine - SF/SG, CHI at MIA ($8,000 DK, $8,700 FD)

LaVine helped propel the Bulls to a win over Toronto to put them on the cusp of the eighth seed in the East. Granted, the Bulls probably need the pick more than a first-round sweep against the Bucks, but I don't think it will be for lack of trying. LaVine is still capable of dropping 50s here and there. I don't like the matchup, but if LaVine is shooting even half as well as he did on Wednesday, he can still hit value at this price.

Luguentz Dort - SF/SG, OKC at MIN ($5,900 DK, $6,300 FD)

The Thunder's rotations have been maddening for the last month or two, but you would think that they may just stick with a rotation that produced a win and 123 points over the Pelicans on Wednesday. If they do, Dort is underpriced. He played 36 minutes and put up 38.75 DraftKings points. The Thunder looked good in that game. It's hard to get your hopes up about a team that does this with rotations, but there is nice upside with Dort. Pay attention to those starting lineups!

Others to consider: Kyle Anderson, MIN vs. OKC ($7,400 DK, $6,800 FD)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Karl-Anthony Towns - MIN vs. OKC ($8,500 DK, $9,400 FD)

It's hard to get your hopes up about KAT with the season he has had and the season Minnesota has had. The play-in loss to the Lakers stung, but don't blame KAT. He racked up 52.75 DraftKings points in the loss in 41 minutes. Rudy Gobert was suspended and now has back spasms. And maybe, just maybe, Minnesota doesn't want him to play anyway. I love KAT for the price here. There is a ton of upside at this price.

Others to consider: Bam Adebayo - MIA vs. CHI ($7,600 DK, $8,200 FD)
