DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (3/3/23): Today's Top NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on February 28th, 2023. Josh Wiesel provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Friday RotoBallers! We've got a 10-game NBA slate to look forward to tonight heading into the weekend. I'll be looking at players at various price points and pointing out where there could be value. This article naturally will some heavy hitters while also providing advice on lower-tier players.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/3/23. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome new NBA injuries report tool as the slate can completely change before lineups lock.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks 

Trae Young - PG, ATL vs. POR (FD: $9,800, DK: $9,500) 

Trae Young is in the top ten for usage rate this season. It's a familiar spot as Young finished fifth in the 2020-21 season and fourth in 2021-22 for usage rate. He gets asked to do a lot and in return, he provides big numbers. Young is on a little run recently, scoring 30+ points in three straight with at least seven assists in every game. Putting up 52+ Dk points in two of those games. In ten February games, he also stole the ball 1.6 times per game. This will be Portland's third game in four days and they could have tired legs keeping up with the Hawks' dynamic point guard.

CJ McCollum - PG, NO @ GSW (FD: $8,100, DK: $7,800)

McCollum gets a great matchup against a Warriors team that has had trouble defending guards. On the season, Golden State has given up the fifth-most Fanduel points to point guards and third-most to shooting guards. McCollum holding more of a hybrid position type makes him even more favorable. CJ is coming off a February that saw him average 19.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists. He started March strong by putting up 24 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists Wednesday night against his former Blazers squad. That came out to 43.3 Dk points. McCollum is averaging 10.4 potential assists in his last ten games and should continue to see great opportunities to put up stats.

Dennis Schroder - PG, LAL vs. MIN (FD: $6,800, DK: $5,800)

With LeBron James and D'Angelo Russell out Friday against the Timberwolves, this price feels like a steal. Schroder tallied 26 points, six assists, two steals, and three three-pointers in the Lakers' massive win Wednesday night in Oklahoma City. In ten games without Lebron this season that he's seen at least 28 minutes, Schroder has averaged 19.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists. Pretty sneaky solid production from a player that won't be such a hefty cost in your lineup.

Other players to target: De'Aaron Fox (FD: $9,400, DK: $9,100), Chris Paul (FD: $7,600, DK: $7,500 DK), Kelly Oubre Jr. (FD $7,000, DK: $6,600) Mike Conley (FD: $5,800, DK: $5,500)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jayson Tatum - SF/PF, BOS vs. BRK (FD: $11,000, DK: $10,600)

The Boston forward is coming off a massive 41 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists against the Cleveland Cavaliers. In that game, he also knocked down 4/6 from deep. Tatum is a player that can run really hot, as seen with his stretches of 30+ point games this season. Opponents have been shooting lights out against the Nets lately. In the last five games, opponents are shooting the highest field goal percentage and second-highest three-point percentage. I like Tatum to exploit a good matchup and go on a hot streak. He also averages 31.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 steals at home, compared to 28.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 0.8 steals on the road. The hefty price should be worth it here.

Paul George - SG/SF, LAC @ SAC (FD: $9,000, DK: $8,300)

George has a very favorable matchup against the Sacramento Kings who rank 29th in OPKR against opposing SG/SFs. He's been playing great as of late, averaging 43.3 DK points in his last five games. The eight-time All-Star is having a very respectable season and has a lot of upside at this number. The last time these two teams played, it went to double overtime with 351 total points scored. Though I don't think it will go an extra ten minutes, I see a lot of points being scored in this one.

Franz Wagner - SG/SF, ORL @ CHA (DK: $6,000, FD: $5,900)

Could you ask for a better matchup? The second-year forward has an excellent chance for a big night against a bad Hornets defense. Charlotte has given up the most points, fifth most rebounds, and fourth most three-pointers to small forwards over the past month. Wagner attempts the second-most field goals and most three-point attempts on Orlando. In two games against the Hornets, Franz has had 22 and 32 fantasy points as per CBS Sports metrics.

Others to target: Brandon Ingram (DK: $8,600, FD: 8,300)

 

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Rudy Gobert - C, MIN @ LAL (FD: $7,900, DK: $7,400)

Gobert is not the most fun option to choose in these formats but he produces. Averaging 33.1 DK points per game, Gobert offers a lot of upside with his ability to score, rebound, and block shots. The Lakers are giving up the fifth most rebounds per game to centers this season. Rudy has been scoring lately with games of 21, 17, 17, and 16 in his last four. He's had 28 games this season of at least 15+ points. With 23 double-doubles this season, tonight is another great opportunity.

Clint Capela - C, ATL vs. POR (FD: $7,500, DK: $5,600)

Similar to Gobert, I like Capela's ability to rebound and block shots while also offering some scoring. Capela is averaging 12 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game this season. Portland gives up the fourth most Fanduel points to starting centers. In their last five games, the Trail Blazers are giving up the third most points in the paint. This should lead to some easy baskets for Capela inside and give him a nice chance at a big fan.

Others to target: Al Horford (FD: $5,700, DK: $4,600), Mason Plumlee (FD: $5,300, DK: $5,000)
