DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (3/23/22): Top NBA DFS Lineups

Happy Wednesday, RotoBallers! I hope this week's NBA DFS slates have treated you well. I'm continuing to work on my NBA model, trying to gather more information to make sure all of you are as armed as possible going into each slate. Even with the small adjustments I've made so far, it seems to be working. I'm trying to implement different factors to separate cash options against GPP options. I'll continue to keep you all updated with the adjustments I make, and with all of that said, let's get to tonight!

Tonight we have a nice slate, with eleven games on tap. With now both FanDuel and DraftKings having multi-position eligibility players, we'll have to attack slates a bit differently to make our lineups as optimal as possible. That's where I come in! I'll look to find my personal top plays and values for tonight's slate. Things can change during the day as well, so I'll do my best to update as news comes out!

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 3/23/22. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Dejounte Murray - at POR (FD: $10,100, DK: $10,300)

I'll start tonight's slate off with Dejounte Murray who, despite having two "floor" games recently, has still been consistently hitting value. The Spurs will be without Lonnie Walker among others tonight, opening up some solid value for Murray. He's a 1.45 FanDuel and 1.44 DraftKings points per minute player in this situation and draws a strong matchup against the Blazers who rank below average in both point guard efficiency and DvP against the position. I somewhat tread with caution due to the "blowout factor", but I think in the event of a blowout, the Spurs should score enough points that Murray should get his normal fantasy output.

Jalen Brunson, vs HOU (FD: $5,300, DK: $6,700)

I'll be mentioning a few Mavericks tonight, due to the absence of Luka Doncic in tonight's showdown against the Rockets. Without Luka, Tim Hardaway, and others off the floor, Brunson is a 1.17 FanDuel and 1.22 DraftKings points per minute player. The Mavs have been playing some solid basketball of late, but without Luka Houston could keep this game close, mitigating the blowout. The Rockets rank 27th in shooting guard efficiency and are in the bottom of the pack in DvP against the position as well. Brunson will likely be a chalky play, so I'll ride with him in cash while looking at a pivot like Spencer Dinwiddie in GPPs.

Davion Mitchell, at IND (FD: $4,600, DK: $5,200)

As of now, it's "unlikely" that De'Aaron Fox suits up for the Kings tonight. While Mitchell is just a 0.75 FanDuel and 0.78 DraftKings points per minute player in this situation, which I found a bit surprising, he should play enough minutes to easily hit value. The Pacers have been giving up points in bunches, averaging 117 points allowed per game over their last three games, and Mitchell should get enough burn to hit value in this matchup. The Pacers also rank in the bottom third of the NBA in point guard efficiency and DvP, which gives him a nice bump. He'll be another chalky cash play, and I'll probably be lighter on him in GPP lineups.

Also consider: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (FD: $9,600, DK: $9,700), Spencer Dinwiddie (FD: $6,600, DK: $6,400)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

LeBron James, vs PHI (FD: $11,200, DK: $11,600)

I'm taking two stances on tonight's slate with solid narrative potential. Coming into tonight, LeBron is averaging 30 points per game, while Joel Embiid is averaging 29.8 points per game. I think both of them will come with everything they've got tonight, and I'll likely be playing a mini "game-stack" with both of them in my lineups. LeBron is a 1.52 FanDuel and 1.55 DraftKings points per minute player in this situation, and the Sixers rank 30th in small forward efficiency and are in the bottom tier of small forward DvP as well. His price is a little bit heavier on DraftKings, but with the value plays we have on tonight's slate, I don't have any problems fitting LeBron in my lineups on both sites.

Dorian Finney-Smith, vs HOU (FD: $4,400, DK: $5,400)

The second Maverick I'm mentioning tonight is Mr. DFS himself. Finney-Smith comes into this matchup a 0.79 FanDuel and 0.83 DraftKings points per minute player in this situation and draws a fantastic matchup against Houston who ranks bottom tier in both power forward efficiency and DvP. I'm not sure if I can trust DFS as a cash play, but I'll definitely have quite a bit of exposure to him as well as other Mavs like Reggie Bullock and Maxi Kleber in GPPs, especially on FanDuel.

Royce O'Neale, at BOS (FD: $4,100, DK: $4,200)

My final forward of the night will be Royce O'Neale. The Jazz will be without fellow forwards Danuel House and Bojan Bogdanovic tonight, and Royce is a 0.65 FanDuel and 0.66 DraftKings points per minute player in this situation. The matchup isn't great against Boston, as the Celtics rank first in small forward efficiency. However, they do rank in the bottom third of small forward DvP. With all of this said, O'Neale's fantasy production is inconsistent at best, so I can't say I trust him in cash but will have some exposure in GPPs.

Also consider: Draymond Green (FD: $5,500, DK: $6,500), Trey Lyles (FD: $5,000, DK: $5,500)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Joel Embiid, at LAL (FD: $11,000, DK: $11,000)

Like I mentioned above with LeBron James, I'm looking into this game with a "narrative" mindset. It doesn't hurt that Embiid is a 1.61 FanDuel and 1.62 DraftKings points per minute player in this situation, and his minutes have been steadily increasing as we get closer to playoffs. He along with James Harden rested on Monday night, so he should be fresh and ready to go for this showdown in LA. The Lakers are slightly above average in both efficiency and DvP against centers, but it really doesn't matter who guards Embiid, especially as he looks to win the scoring title.

Andre Drummond, at MEM (FD: $5,500, DK: $5,700)

While I'll most likely look to pay up at center in cash games, I do think that Drummond is a solid GPP pivot tonight. It's really a shame (at least for us DFS players) that Drummond doesn't get more minutes, but he's a 1.22 FanDuel and 1.23 DraftKings points per minute player in this situation. The Grizzlies rank middle of the pack in both center efficiency and DvP, but I could see Drummond having himself a ceiling game if he plays 25+ minutes.

Also consider: Mo Bamba (FD: $4,500, DK: $5,600), Damian Jones  (FD: $4,700, DK: $3,700)
