DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (3/2/22): Top NBA DFS Lineups

LaMelo Ball - Charlotte Hornets

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on March 2, 2022. John Brubaker provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Wednesday, RotoBallers! I hope last night's slate of NBA DFS treated you well. I'm continuing to work on my NBA model, trying to gather more information to make sure all of you are as armed as possible going into each slate. Even with the small adjustments I've made so far, it seems to be working. I'm trying to implement different factors to separate cash options against GPP options. I'll continue to keep you all updated with the adjustments I make, and with all of that said, let's get to tonight!

Tonight we have a nice slate, with eight games on tap. With now both FanDuel and DraftKings having multi-position eligibility players, we'll have to attack slates a bit differently to make our lineups as optimal as possible. That's where I come in! I'll look to find my personal top plays and values for tonight's slate. Things can change during the day as well, so I'll do my best to update as news comes out!

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 3/2/22. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

LaMelo Ball - vs CLE (FD: $8,000, DK: $8,500)

I'll start tonight's slate off with LaMelo Ball. Ball's been a bit up and down of late but is at a cheap enough price that I can consider him in all formats on both sites. The Hornets look to be without both Gordon Hayward and James Bouknight tonight, where Ball is the biggest beneficiary, logging 1.22 FanDuel and 1.27 DraftKings points per minute. The matchup isn't the greatest, as the Cavs rank fifth in opponent efficiency, but in what should be a high-paced and high-scoring game, I have no problem going to LaMelo here.

Dennis Schroder, vs UTA (FD: $5,700, DK: $5,800)

Dennis Schroder is the next guy on my list here as it's possible that the Rockets will be without Kevin Porter Jr. once again tonight. Schroder didn't have the greatest night last night, logging just eight points, four rebounds, and six assists. I'll keep an eye on KPJ's status throughout the day, as Schroder gets bumped to a 0.95 FanDuel and 1 DraftKings points per minute player with him off the floor. The Jazz rank 9th in point guard efficiency, but there's solid GPP value in Schroder tonight should Porter sit this one out.

Cameron Payne, vs POR (FD: $4,100, DK: $4,300)

This play will depend on whether Payne plays tonight of course, but if he does we should be in for a solid cash value play. Payne is a 1.02 FanDuel and 1.05 DraftKings points per minute player with Chris Paul off the floor, and should play around 28 minutes tonight should he actually play with no restrictions. The matchup is great here as well, as the Blazers give up points in bunches and rank 20th in point guard efficiency. So long as he plays, Payne is a home-run guard play and I'll be having him in my cash lineups as well as a ton of exposure in GPPs.

Also consider: Alec Burks (FD: $4,600, DK: $5,300), Keon Johnson (FD: $3,500, DK: $3,100)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jimmy Butler, at MIL (FD: $8,400, DK: $9,200)

After a scorching hot first quarter last night, Butler slowed down to the point where he didn't even hit 5x value. As disappointing as that was, I'll be going back to the well tonight. Butler is a 1.28 FanDuel and 1.27 DraftKings points per minute player in this current situation and should play north of 35 minutes in a big-game scenario against the Bucks. As well as the Bucks are on defense, they do struggle against small forwards, ranking 27th in small forward efficiency. This is a quality matchup for Butler and his price is just too low --  particularly on FanDuel -- for me to ignore.

Mikal Bridges, vs POR (FD: $5,400, DK: $6,000)

Bridges hasn't necessarily been playing up to his standards from a fantasy perspective over the last week, but I still rate him tonight as a solid forward option against the Blazers. He's just a 0.73 point per minute player on both sites in this situation, but he should play north of 35 minutes tonight. As I mentioned with Payne, the Blazers give up points in bunches. They're middle of the pack against small forwards, ranked 16th in small forward efficiency, but so long as the Suns put up big numbers tonight you have to figure Bridges will get his.

Bojan Bogdanovic, at HOU (FD: $4,600, DK: $5,600)

It seems like, again just from a fantasy perspective, Bogdanovic and Bridges are the same players. Bogy hasn't played up to his potential of late either but should get a chance to put up some big numbers tonight against the Rockets who are coming in on a back-to-back. Bogdanovic is a 0.87 FanDuel and 0.81 DraftKings points per minute player in his situation but should play around 32 minutes tonight. This play is more specific to FanDuel, as it's tough to ignore a starter with the fantasy potential that Bogdanovic does at just $4,600.

Also consider: Lauri Markkanen (FD: $5,500, DK: $6,200), Kenyon Martin Jr. (FD: $3,500, DK: $3,500)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jarrett Allen, vs CHA (FD: $7,200, DK: $7,400)

The Cavs have been so much fun to watch this year and I think it's so crazy that the "trio of bigs" that they have can all produce at such a high rate. They should all feast again tonight against the Hornets who allow the most points in the league this season. Assuming Darius Garland does not play tonight, Allen logs 1.13 FanDuel and 1.11 DraftKings points per minute player in that situation. Those numbers go up to 1.14/1.12 respectively should Garland play, so we're getting solid projected output regardless. I look forward to Allen taking care of business against the Hornets who rank 27th in center efficiency. He's my favorite center play tonight.

Drew Eubanks, at PHO (FD: $3,900, DK: $4,300)

Let's hope Eubanks isn't just a rug pull tonight after he had a massive performance against the Nuggets on Sunday, logging 13 points, ten rebounds, and two assists. While replacing Jusuf Nurkic, Eubanks is a 0.88 FanDuel and 0.91 DraftKings points per minute player. It looks like he should play around 25 minutes at minimum, creating a great value center that also has power forward eligibility on FanDuel. The Suns are middle of the road against centers, ranking 15th in center efficiency. I still prefer Allen here, but depending on how the day shakes out and how I decide to build my lineups, I can definitely see myself playing Eubanks in cash.

Also consider: Deandre Ayton (FD: $6,800, DK: $6,800), Mo Bamba  (FD: $4,600, DK: $4,900)
