DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/19/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Clayton Kershaw - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Starting Pitchers, Starts and Sits

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on September 19, 2022. Euan Leith's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Monday, RotoBallers! I can't believe this is the third to last Monday of the MLB regular season. Of course, RotoBaller will continue its excellent coverage into the 2022 playoffs, but it's crazy how fast the season has flown by. Playoff spots will be clinched, divisions will be won, and lineups and starting rotations will get weird. So keep an eye out for any last-minute surprises before those lineups lock.

DraftKings and FanDuel provide the same seven-game slate to start the week. Seven games equal 14 arms to parse through, and my favorite ace as of this writing is Clayton Kershaw. Unfortunately, Max Scherzer and Corbin Burnes facing each other lower each other's win potential. Meanwhile, Kershaw plays the Diamondbacks, and the Dodgers are -250 to pick up their 102nd win of the season.

This article will always provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Monday's main slate locks at 6:40 pm EST on 9/19/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite, high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Clayton Kershaw vs. ARI ($9,700 DraftKings; $9,700 FanDuel)

On Monday, Max Scherzer is making his first start after an IL stint, and Corbin Burnes has a tough matchup with Scherzer and the Mets. While I won't completely fade the former Cy Young winners, it does bump them down enough to make Clayton Kershaw my favorite ace to put on my DFS roster for this seven-game slate.

Since returning from an IL stint of his own, the Dodgers' legendary lefty has mustered up a 1.50 ERA, 0.67 WHIP, and 19 strikeouts over 18 innings. Tonight, Kershaw faces an Arizona outfit ready for some October tee times and a reset in the offseason. Since the All-Star break, the Diamondbacks strike out 24.2 percent of the time against LHPs, and they've only managed to put together a .214/.273/.345 slash line.

Tyler Wells vs. DET ($6,100 DK; $7,100 FD)

I don't consider Tyler Wells an option for me on FanDuel tonight, but I think he's worth a flyer as an SP2 on DraftKings. The Orioles righty will make his third start since six weeks on the shelf, and he threw 34 and 50 pitches in each of those. If he can get the pitch count up to 70 against the Tigers, I think he has a fantastic shot at returning some tremendous value. Over the last two months, Detroit has struck out 27.4 percent of the time against RHPs and is a well below-average offense with a 74 wRC+.

Also consider: Max Scherzer, Corbin Burnes, Kyle Wright, Edward Cabrera, Wade Miley

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Garrett Cooper - 1B, MIA vs. Wade Miley ($2,600 DK; $2,500 FD)

With the season winding down, Miami is mixing up its lineups and looking for positives to take into 2023. Unfortunately, this has resulted in Cooper getting less playing time down the stretch. However, with a lefty on a mound, I feel confident he'll slot back into the third or fourth spot in the Marlins lineup. Over his last 10 games, the 31-year-old sports a 1.048 OPS with six runs, six doubles, two home runs, and seven RBI.

Jeff McNeil - 2B/OF, NYM at Corbin Burnes ($4,400 DK; $2,900 FD)

Batting between Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso is never a bad thing. Batting between Lindor and Alonso and being cheap is great for DFS. That's where we find ourselves with McNeil. The matchup against Burnes is tough, but the Mets offense is beating up RHPs with a .345 wOBA since the All-Star break. Over the last 10 outings, McNeil is slashing .343/.478/.371. So there's not a lot of power, but he's getting himself on base and putting himself in a position to accrue DFS points.

David Villar - 3B, SF at Chad Kuhl ($2,400 DK; $2,800 FD)

Over the last two weeks among qualified third basemen, David Villar's .486 wOBA puts him fourth behind only Eugenio Suarez, Eduardo Escobar, and Max Muncy. Now, he gets to go on the road to Coors Field and mash in Colorado. It's great news for DFS managers as his road OPS sits at .903 compared to his home rate with a .577 OPS. Also, getting a heart-of-the-order-bat for $2,400 at Coors never happens, so we need to take at least one shot on Villar.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Yordan Alvarez - OF, HOU at Drew Rasmussen ($6,300 DK; $4,600 FD)

Yordan Alvarez cannot be stopped. He single-handedly destroyed the Oakland A's over the weekend in a four-game set as Houston clinched a sixth consecutive postseason berth. In four games, the lefty slugger went 9-for-17 with six runs, three doubles, four home runs, and nine RBI. Chasing the hot streak is a bit of a flawed process here, but sometimes you've just got to ride the streak until it stops. So as a reward for streak chasing, here's one of those bombs from the weekend.

Michael Harris II - OF, ATL vs. Cory Abbott ($4,800 DK; $3,700 FD)

Harris came up from Double-A with some question marks surrounding his offense. Well, those have been answered during his rookie campaign. In 99 games, the defense-first outfielder has compiled a .885 OPS with 18 home runs, 16 steals, and 58 RBI despite being anchored to the lower half of the Braves lineup all season. The odds-on favorite to take home the NL Rookie of the Year award, Harris is also one of my favorites to hit a homer run against Cory Abbott and his 12.5 percent barrel rate.

Yonathan Daza - OF, COL vs. Jakob Junis ($2,600 DK; $3,100 FD)

On a seven-game schedule, it's hard to stay away from some Coors Field exposure. I don't mind leaning into it with one lineup, and Daza will be an essential piece of the puzzle as he has the No. 2 slot locked up in the Mile High City. Since returning to the Rockies after a stint on the IL, Daza is spraying the ball all over the field. Across 38 at-bats, the 28-year-old outfielder is rocking a .395 average with a 1.044 OPS, and he's added nine runs, four doubles, a long ball, and six RBI to his fantasy production.
