The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on August 11, 2023. Nick's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Another full slate of games for Friday is on tap. We have a lot to get to with the main slate and not a lot of time, so let's go!

This article contains my picks for the main slate on Friday, August 11, 2023, for both DraftKings and FanDuel, which locks at 7:05 PM ET. There is a chance of rain in the northeast, but it looks like all games should be able to play with a delay possible in Philly and Boston.

The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Lance Lynn, LAD vs. COL ($8,900 DK, $9,900 FD)

We saw Clayton Kershaw excel in this same matchup last night. Now it's Lance Lynn's turn to face the Rockies away from Coors Field. Lynn isn't Kershaw and he hasn't had a great season, but the strikeouts have been there all year long. Lynn has a 26% strikeout percentage this season. He has a lot of upside in this matchup tonight and I have him as the top pitcher on the board.

Justin Verlander, HOU vs. LAA ($9,400 DK, $10,500 FD)

Verlander has allowed two earned runs or less in seven of his last eight starts. Suddenly, he has a 3.11 ERA on the season now. The Angels have been struggling ever since they decided to be buyers at the deadline. Verlander went seven innings in his last start and should be able to go deep in the game once again here.

Others to consider: Ross Stripling ($5,600 DK, $6,900 FD) vs. TEX

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Bobby Witt Jr. - SS, KC vs. STL ($5,800 DK, $3,900 FD)

Witt Jr. has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball lately and the matchup couldn't get better for him tonight. Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright is in his last season and has been pitching like he's on his last legs. Witt Jr. is expensive, but he's certainly one of the top options at home in this matchup.

Willson Contreras - C, STL at KC ($3,500 DK, $2,800 FD)

The Kansas City Royals don't have a starting pitcher tonight. Dylan Coleman is scheduled to start, but he's a reliever so Contreras will be facing a bullpen game. He's one of the best value plays on the slate tonight, especially on DraftKings.

Seth Brown - 1B/OF (DK) OF (FD), OAK at WAS ($3,400 DK, $2,600 FD)

Really good matchup for Brown tonight and he's underpriced on both sites. Washington will start Joan Adon, who has allowed a .286 ISO to right-handed hitters this season. Brown has a .239 ISO against right-handed pitching and gets a ballpark upgrade going to Washington in this one. 

 

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Tyler O'Neill - OF, STL at KC ($3,700 DK, $2,600 FD)

As I mentioned, this will be a bullpen game for Kansas City. O'Neill has been hot lately and is way underpriced on both sites. The weather in this game will be something to keep an eye on throughout the day as there are some scary storms around the ballpark that could cause a delay or even PPD.

Joey Weimer - OF, MIL at CHW ($2,300 DK, $2,500 FD)

Weimer is one of the best value plays on the slate. Chicago starter Michael Kopech has allowed a .240 ISO and .359 wOBA to right-handed hitters on the season. It doesn't get much better than this matchup when the price is this close to the minimum.

M.J. Melendez - OF, KC vs. STL ($3,300 DK, $2,900 FD)

Melendez will face Adam Wainwright tonight. Wainwright has allowed a ridiculous .304 ISO and .491 wOBA to left-handed hitters on the season. Melendez hasn't had a great season, but he's been one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball since the All-Star break. He's underpriced on both sites considering his matchup against Wainwright. 

 

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Atlanta Braves vs. Tylor Megill

The Braves are always in play, but they have a good matchup tonight against Megill. Once he's out of the game the Mets have the 10th-worst bullpen ERA in all of baseball at 4.19. Atlanta is expensive, but they're in a good spot if you can use cheap pieces around them to be able to fit them into your lineup tonight.

Also consider: San Diego Padres vs. Ryne Nelson

The Padres have an explosive offense at times and they're facing a bad starting pitcher with a bottom-10 bullpen behind him. Fire up some Padres.

Sneaky Stack: Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Andrew Abbott

Nobody will want to play the Pirates at this point in the season, but they do have a good matchup against Abbott tonight. Abbott is allowing a .193 ISO to right-handed hitters this season. Ke'Brayan Hayes, Bryan Reynolds, Andrew McCutcheon, Connor Joe, and Henry Davis all make sense here.
