DraftKings DFS – CBB Fantasy Basketball Advice & Value Picks for March Madness Day 3 (3/21/15)

Below are some DraftKings DFS lineup picks for today’s March Madness Day 3 CBB action, March 21st, 2015. These players represent potential fantasy basketball sleepers based on their matchups, and can be strong DFS lineup plays based on their DraftKings prices and dollar values.

Keep in mind, CBB DFS is a fast-paced environment that includes last minute changes, so be sure to check injury reports and your DFS lineups prior to tip-off.

Editors Note: For live banter about CBB DFS lineups and strategies, be sure to check out RotoBaller’s famous fantasy basketball chat room at the bottom of this article.

Worth the DraftKings Investment

Norman Powell - G UCLA ($7,600)

Powell’s name will surprise some at the top of this list, however nearly every top dollar guard on the board today has an awful matchup. DeAngelo Russell faces a devastating Arizona defense, Jerian Grant plays a solid and slow paced team in Butler, and Devauntes Smith-Rivera plays Delon Wright and the stingy defense of Utah. That makes Powell  a great play. He is UCLA’s go to scoring option in a game against upset minded UAB. He plays a ton of minutes, only under 31 one time in the last 10, and is scoring 16.5 fantasy points per game. It is a bit concerning he only pulls down 4.7 rebounds and dishes 2.1 assists per game but he is very close to a lock for at least 15 points with upside for 30 which for this price is all we are looking for. Use this savings to pay up for some stud forwards today.

Bobby Portis - F Arkansas ($9,200)

Yes Portis is $1,500 more than any other forward today, but that is for a reason as the SEC player of the year is a monster on offense. He has only been under 20 fantasy points one time in his past 10 game and that was against a stellar Kentucky defense. In that time Portis has also gone over 30 four times. With averages of 17.5 points and 8.8 rebounds he is a great candidate to get the double-double bonus and should be in line for a heavy work load against a North Carolina team that wants run as much as the Razorbacks do. A 15 point, 13 rebound and 35.75 fantasy point line like he posted Thursday should be about right in this one.

DraftKings Sleepers & Value Picks

Ryan Arcidiacono - G Villanova ($5,400)

Not very often to we get a major conference player of the year who is just $5,400. Arcidiacono may be a great play to exploit tonight. He is not your typical player of the year that puts up huge scoring numbers but for a balanced Villanova squad he is the player that generally plays the most minutes and has the ball in his hands. On Thursday he posted 24.75 fantasy points which is just short of 5x value in just 26 minutes. Look for those minutes and stats to be up in a good game against North Carolina State.

Trevon Bluiett - F Xavier ($5,300)

Bluiett should be a great mid-range play tonight as he is one of the most trusted members of the Xavier frontline. That group will face a Georgia Southern team that entered the tournament right around 300th in the country in rebounding. Along with being a solid rebounder, Bluiett also pours in 11.5 points per night and a respectable 2.0 assists per game. He is averaging 20.6 fantasy points per game on the season which would put him right at 4x value today. Given that he will play around 30 minutes in a good matchup this price may be too good to pass up in cash games.

Kaleb Tarczewski - C Arizona ($5,000)

There is not a ton of cheap value today so Tarczewski will have to fit the bill today as Arizona takes on Ohio State. In what should be one of the better games of the day, Zues and the Wildcats should have a big advantage down low against Jae’Sean Tate who fouled out of the Buckeye’s first game against VCU. He is certainly not a high volume scorer or rebounder, but for just $5,000 he has the upside to hit mid-20’s in fantasy points as he put up 21.25 in their big win Thursday.

Kevin Ware - G Georgia State ($4,700)

By now everyone knows the Ware story about a second chance in the tournament with the feel good story of Georgia State. However, with the absence of stud point guard Ryan Harrow due to injury, Ware has been asked to step up his offensive game to help R.J. Hunter. Ware only averages 7.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game on the year but has games of 21.75 and 26.25 in two of the last three which is far more upside than you will see from most players at this price point.
