DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (4/5/21): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on April 5th, 2021. Eric Moody provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

The NBA schedule has seven games on the main slate for Monday night. You'll have a plethora of players to choose from, but one game you'll definitely want exposure to is the Sacramento Kings versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. This matchup has a point total of 251. Here are three tips on how to attack the overall slate when assembling lineups.

First of all, it’s important to look at the pace and Vegas lines. Second, it’s also useful to understand the number of fantasy points a team gives up to a specific position. The final tip is to identify value plays that are critical on a slate of any size. You don’t have to necessarily go for the cheapest value, but you want to identify players who have a high floor and a high ceiling.

This article will supply you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for the DraftKings on 4/5/21. You can also check out today’s FanDuel lineup picks. It’s also important to monitor injury news as a result of COVID-19 as the slate can completely change before line-up lock. Without further ado, let’s dive into the picks!

DraftKings DFS Guards

De'Aaron Fox - PG, SAC vs MIN ($9,200)

Fox scored 27 points, accumulated six assists, three rebounds, one steal, and one block in 38 minutes against the Bucks last Saturday. This was a nice bounce back after two subpar games against the Spurs and Lakers. Fox has the seventh high Usage Rate (31%) among point guards. This metric is an estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he was on the floor. Fox faces a Timberwolves team that has allowed the second-most DraftKings fantasy points per game to point guards this season.

Chris Paul - PG, PHO vs HOU ($8,300)

Paul scored 17 points, stockpiled 12 assists, five rebounds, and three steals across 22 minutes against the Thunder last Friday. This was his 14th double-double this season. Paul has the eighth highest Player Efficiency Rating (23.8) among point guards. This metric sums up all a player's positive accomplishments, subtracts the negative accomplishments and returns a per-minute rating of a player's performance. Paul should feast on a Rockets team that has allowed the third-most DraftKings fantasy points per game this season.

Kevin Porter Jr. - PG/SG, HOU vs PHO ($7,300)

Porter scored 12 points, amassed five rebounds, five assists, and a block last night against the Pelicans. He's scored 32 or more DraftKings fantasy points in three out of his last five games. Porter is a solid DFS option who can score points and contribute in multiple statistical areas, but his free throw percentage and three-point ranges continue to be areas of opportunity.

Bonus Guards: Devin Booker ($9,000), Anthony Edwards ($7,600), Dejounte Murray ($7,500), Derrick White ($6,300)

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Julius Randle - PF/C, NY vs BKN ($9,600)

Randles scored 29 points, gathered eight rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes against the Pistons last Saturday. He has a Usage Rate of 28.3% this season. The Knicks offense revolves around Randle. He has scored 20 or more points in five of his last seven games. Randle has allowed snatched eight or more rebounds in five consecutive games. He faces a Nets' team that has allowed the seventh-most DraftKings fantasy points per game to power forwards.

DeMar DeRozan - SF, SA vs CLE ($8,200)

DeRozan scored 25 points, garnered six assists and four rebounds across 37 minutes last Saturday against the Pacers. He's averaged 35 minutes, 23.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.7 assists, one steal, and 0.3 blocks per game over his last 10. DeRozan has a Usage Rate of 25.2% this season. DeRozan faces a Cavaliers team that has allowed the 11th most DraftKings fantasy points per game to small forwards.

Naz Reid - PF/C, MIN vs SAC ($3,300)

Reid only scored five points, three rebounds, and a block in 18 minutes against the 76ers on Saturday night. He continues to come off the bench now that Karl-Anthony Towns is healthy, but has been capable of solid stat lines when provided 20 or more minutes. Reid faces a Kings' defense that has been dominated by centers. Sacramento has allowed the fourth-most DraftKings fantasy points per game to the position this season.

Bonus Forwards: Pascal Siakam ($8,500), Jerami Grant ($7,200), RJ Barrett ($6,700), Aleksej Pokusevski ($5,300)

DraftKings DFS Centers

Karl-Anthony Towns - C, MIN vs SAC ($10,600)

Towns scored 39 points, hoarded 14 rebounds, five assists, one steal, and a block against the 76ers. This was his sixth consecutive double-double. Towns has the third-highest Usage Rate (29%) among centers. He has the highest ceiling of any center on the slate against a Kings team that has been eviscerated by the position all season.

Christian Wood - C, HOU vs PHO ($8,800)

Wood scored 15 points, collected 12 rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 33 minutes against the Pelicans yesterday. This was his second consecutive game with a double-double. Wood is well-positioned to continue this trend against the Suns. He has scored 37 or more DraftKings fantasy points in four consecutive games.

Bonus Centers: Moses Brown ($7,100), Chris Boucher ($5,900)
