DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (2/28/21): NBA DFS Lineups

Stephen Curry - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on February 28, 2021. Eric Moody provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

The NBA schedule has eight games on the main slate for Sunday night. Only three have an implied point total of 230 or more. Here are three tips on how to attack the overall slate when assembling lineups.

First of all, it’s important to look at the pace and Vegas lines. Second, it’s also useful to understand the number of fantasy points a team gives up to a specific position. The final tip is to identify value plays that are critical on a slate of any size. You don’t have to necessarily go for the cheapest value, but you want to identify players who have a high floor and a high ceiling.

This article will supply you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for the DraftKings on 2/28/21. You can also check out today’s FanDuel lineup picks. It’s also important to monitor injury news as a result of COVID-19 as the slate can completely change before line-up lock. Without further ado, let’s dive into the picks!

DraftKings DFS Guards

Stephen Curry - PG, GS vs. LAL ($10,000)

Curry scored 29 points, accumulated nine assists, four rebounds, and a steal last Friday against the Hornets. He leads the NBA with 162 three-pointers this season. Curry has the seventh-highest Usage Rate (32.4%) among all NBA players. This metric is an estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he was on the floor. Curry also has the fourth-highest Player Efficiency Rating. This metric sums up all a player's positive accomplishments, subtracts the negative accomplishments and returns a per-minute rating of a player's performance. Curry is averaging 30 points per game this season and is an excellent option to build your roster around.

De'Aaron Fox - PG, SAC vs. CHA ($8,600)

Fox was a statistical monster last Friday against the Pistons. He scored 27 points, collected six assists, five rebounds, two blocks, and a steal. The Kings offense revolves around Fox. He has a Usage Rate of 30% this season and faces a Hornets defense that has allowed the 11th most DraftKings fantasy points to point guards.

Chris Paul - PG, PHO vs. MIN ($7,800)

Paul scored 14 points, amassed six rebounds, 15 assists, and three steals during 35 minutes against the Bulls last Friday. He's struggled from the field in recent games, but Paul's ability to create assists has salvaged his fantasy days. The Timberwolves have allowed ninth-most assists per game this season. Paul is a solid option on tonight's slate and has an even higher ceiling if his shooting woes come to an end.

Bonus Guards: Ja Morant ($7,200), Kemba Walker ($6,800), Norman Powell ($6,700)

DraftKings DFS Forwards

LeBron James - PG/SF, LAL vs GS ($10,800)

Last Friday James scored 28 points, stockpiled 11 rebounds, seven assists, four steals, and three blocks against the Warriors. He is probable for tonight's game against Golden State with an ankle injury, but it would be surprising to see James be inactive. James has averaged 26 points, 8.2 rebounds, eight assists, and 1.4 steals per game over the last five games. He has the ninth highest Usage Rate (32%) in the NBA. James has one of the highest ceilings on tonight's slate. If James is inactive my recommendation is to pivot to Jimmy Butler.

Julius Randle - PF/C, NY vs DET ($9,500)

Last Thursday Randle had his third consecutive double-double. He scored 21 points, garnered four assists and one steal against the Kings. Randle is setting career averages in points, rebounds, and assists this season. He has the fifth highest Usage Rate (28%) among power forwards. Randle faces a Pistons team that has allowed the fifth-most DraftKings fantasy points to power forwards this season.

Jerami Grant - SF/PF, DET vs NY ($7,600)

Grant recorded 30 points, seven rebounds, and an assist in 39 minutes against the Kings last Friday. He has the ninth highest Usage Rate (27%) among small forwards and continues to be the Pistons go-to player on offense. Grant has been inconsistent over the last five games, but remains a nice value at his DraftKings salary.

Bonus Forwards: Draymond Green ($7,500), Gordon Hayward ($7,400), John Collins ($6,700)

DraftKings DFS Centers

Karl-Anthony Towns - C, MIN vs PHO ($10,100)

Towns scored 24 points, hoarded eight rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a block across 31 minutes last Wednesday against the Bulls. The Timberwolves' offense is run through him. Towns has averaged 33 minutes, 23 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block per game over his last nine games. He has the highest ceiling of any centers on the slate.

Bam Adebayo - C, MIA vs ATL ($8,900)

Last Friday Adebayo scored 19 minutes, accumulated 11 rebounds, seven assists, a steal, and a block in 34 minutes against the Jazz. He's been playing through knee tendinosis in his left knee and will likely play tonight even though Adebayo's listed as probable. He's had nine double-doubles and one triple-double during the month of February.

Bonus Centers: Clint Capela ($8,400), Jonas Valanciunas ($7,400), Chris Boucher ($6,400)
