DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (12/14/19): NBA DFS Lineups

Seven game slates lead to some of the best nights because they offer enough variance to keep it interesting, but you won't run into all the same dopes running the same lineup. As much as everyone wants to win, playing the same lineup hurt your chances and it's always better to have a little bit of chance thrown in. If you want to win big, you can't do it by following someone's else lineup step-for-step, so do not be afraid to add a little risk into a lineup.

There are a decent number of value plays because you will need to free up space to take players like James Harden, Blake Griffin, Luke Doncic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Before we get to the rest of the article, I feel it's necessary to mention that Davis Bertans is playing the Memphis Grizzlies tonight.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 12/14/19. You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks.  Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock. Find me in the NBA Chat Room or @HalfCourtJester on Twitter.

DraftKings DFS Guards

 Jamal Murray - PG/SG, vs OKC ($5,800)

Much like the case of Gary Harris, extended poor play is the reason why Jamal Murray's price is so low. It has been some time since Murray has been at sub $6K levels, but this just means that one of these games is going to be the reason he propels back up close to $8K. The Thunder have been decent at defending opposing point guards, but that gives Murray a better chance of going under-owned tonight. Even with missing shots, Murray has proven defensive rankings pointless so look for him to have a good amount of attempts tonight as he continues to rake in the usage.

Jalen Brunson - PG/SG, vs MIA ($3,100)

I was initially looking at Tyler Herro, but once I saw Jalen Brunson's name I made the switch to focus on Brunson instead. Both SHOULD have good games, but Brunson should have upside from his defense. His ability to play quality on-ball defense with the second unit is going to get Brunson minutes, he just needs to produce on the other end. He has been shooting whenever he gets the chance and that is what is going to fuel the basis behind this pick. Since playing against the Heat means this will be a defense-oriented matchup, I'm going with some of the stronger defenders, even if Brunson doesn't have the physical makeup of what some might call a quality defender.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Danuel House Jr. - SG/SF, vs. DET ($4,100)

I suggested playing Danuel House Jr. yesterday, but Ben McLemore's price was more fitting and it ended up working out in McLemore's favor. Since he had such a bad game yesterday, there is a great chance he rebounds given his track record of being able to produce in the Rockets rotation. There isn't much else to say other than that there aren't many cheap Rockets players and you know some of them will be producing alongside James Harden. The Pistons won't be able to stop Harden, but they do have players who can make things difficult for other players, leaving a more opportunities for House to simply sit on the wing and shoot.

Derrick Jones Jr. - SF/PF, @ DAL  ($3,800)

After last game, it's more of a surprise why his price isn't higher. His inability to shoot consistently will always make him a risk, but just imaging some of the Maverick defenders trying to stop him is somewhat laughable. Even if Dallas has Kristaps Porzingis and Dwight Powell roaming the paint, neither are the right caliber of player to stop a rim-runner like Jones Jr. He will dominate matchups that don't have a quality center and the Mavericks lack a true paint presence. Porzingis can block shots, but when it comes to meeting someone at the rim a player like Jones is his kryptonite.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Larry Nance Jr. - C, @ MIL ($3,700)

Playing against Milwaukee has been great for bigs. Upside is maximized for someone who can facilitate in the frontcourt and that's Larry Nance Jr.'s calling card. Even if he is stuck letting Giannis Antetokounmpo run into him time and time again, his price is so low given his potential. Nance literally just rebounded last game and I think that is going to help keep certain players away, while others like myself, will play Nance with confidence assuming he will try to do anything other than rebound.
