DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (10/31/19): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on October 31, 2019. Drew Deen provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

The Thursday Halloween NBA slate has arrived!  Tonight features just three games for NBA and DFS fans to consider for our lineups.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/31/19.  You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks.  Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.

Only one of the six teams in action tonight is on a back-to-back with the LA Clippers playing the Utah Jazz last night in Salt Lake City.  We also have a rematch of a game we just saw played on Tuesday night between the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat.  One thing to remember about a small slate is that you will see very heavy ownership percentages on popular plays.  Do not be afraid to take a stand or take some shots on a few bench guys that no one is talking about in tournaments IF you have the bankroll and risk tolerance.  Most slates we are eliminating several guys from our player pool, but anyone projected to be in the rotation is in play tonight.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Jamal Murray - PG/SG, @ NO ($6600)

The boom or bust Denver guard has been the reason for many big tournament wins and let downs for NBA DFS players.  While Murray can be a frustrating play, I really like him as a tournament play on this three-game slate in a pace up spot against the New Orleans Pelicans.  Targeting games involving the Pelicans this year has been appealing as opposing teams have scored at least 122 points in every game this season.  Although the Pelicans do have two solid on-ball defenders in Lonzo Ball and Jrue Holiday (expected back from injury), Murray should have plenty of possessions and shot attempts to exceed value.  The one concern with Murray is that he is often scoring dependent to pay off his price tag.

Will Barton - SG/SF, @ NO ($5,000)

Yes, I am listing two guards from the same team.  Normally, I would not take this approach for this write-up, but I plan to use two of Murray, Barton, and Gary Harris in a few lineups on such a small slate.  Barton is off to a fantastic start this season eclipsing 30 DK points in three of four games.  Whether you are stacking Barton with Murray or choosing Barton for the $1,600 discount, I am playing the Denver guards with confidence as Denver has the highest implied team total of the evening on the betting markets.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Kenrich Williams - SF/PF, vs DEN ($3,800)

The second-year forward is an obvious favorite of Coach Alvin Gentry from what I have seen watching the Pelicans this year.  By no means does Williams scream fantasy production with his limited offensive game, but his versatility ability to guard multiple positions has led to plenty of minutes for the versatile forward.  Although Williams is still developing as a scorer and shooter, his ability to score fantasy points through steals, blocks, and rebounding makes him safer than most cheap plays.

John Collins - PF/C, vs MIA ($8,300)

We saw John Collins exceed 50 DK points in this exact same match-up on Tuesday night.  Collins, a rising star in the league, may not be a household name just yet, but his athleticism and ability to stuff the stat sheet make him a DFS favorite.  His price tag is expensive, but my main reason for targetting Collins is due to the injury of G Trae Young and his 36.9% usage rate (third highest).  Without Young in the lineup, the Hawks should look to run the offense through Collins.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Bam Adebayo - C, @ ATL ($7,600)

The departure of former big man, Hassan Whiteside has provided a newfound opportunity for center Bam Adebayo. The Heat center has become a double-double machine - achieving the mark in three of four games and one rebound shy in the other.   While the Heat have tremendous depth at guard and wing, Adebayo is the only proven, traditional big on the roster.  Others can pick and choose between all of the scoring options on the Heat, and I will take the secure minutes and consistent fantasy production of Adebayo.
