DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (1/8/19): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on January 8, 2019. Justin Bales provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

After a sizeable Monday slate, we have a surprisingly large Tuesday slate. Normally, we have four or fewer games on a Tuesday, but we were gifted eight games tonight. That will help lineup construction quite a bit on a night that usually has a few players feature a plethora of ownership.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/8/19. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on DraftKings.

You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks. As always, don't set your lineups to early and check player statuses prior to opening tip. Give me a follow on Twitter @BalesSJustin with questions or comments. Good luck everyone.

DraftKings DFS Guards

De'Aaron Fox - PG, at PHX ($7,200)

Fox has cooled off a bit recently, but he has still flashed tremendous upside. He also scored 16 points with seven assists and one steal (28.5 fantasy points) in only 26.5 minutes against the Phoenix Suns in their only matchup this season. Fox is likely to see minutes in the mid- to high-30s tonight, and Phoenix currently ranks 26th in the NBA against point guards. Fox can be considered in all leagues because of this matchup.

Alec Burks - PG/SG, vs IND ($4,700)

Burks has quietly been playing well for the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging 13.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists (25.8 fantasy points) in 32.3 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He has scored 23+ fantasy points in each of his last four games with 30+ minutes, including two games with 30+ fantasy points. He gets a tough matchup against the Indiana Pacers, but he scored 26.25 fantasy points in only 26.2 minutes against them this season. He's a great option for a low price tag tonight.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Danilo Gallinari - SF/PF, vs CHA ($7,300)

Gallinari is coming off of a bad game for the Los Angeles Clippers, but he is still averaging 19.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists (35.3 fantasy points) in 33.2 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He has scored 35+ fantasy points in four of his last five games, while flashing more upside. His opponents, the Charlotte Hornets, rank 24th in the NBA against small forwards, and Gallinari can be considered in all leagues.

Marvin Williams - SF/PF, at LAC ($5,300)

Wiliams has been a bit of a boom or bust option for the Charlotte Hornets recently, but his upside is undeniable. He has scored 30+ fantasy points in six of his last 10 games, but he has also scored fewer than 17 fantasy points in three of those games. He gets a good matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, who will be looking to push the pace in this game. We could see another explosive game from Williams in this particular matchup.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Bismack Biyombo - C, at LAC ($4,500)

Biyombo is expected to draw the start for the injured Cody Zeller, although he's expected to split minutes with Guillermo Hernangomez. Biyombo has played 21, 30, and 15 minutes since the Zeller injury, scoring 19, 39.5, and 22.25 fantasy points in those games, respectively. He gets a great matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, who currently rank 27th in the NBA against centers. Biyombo certainly comes with risk, but there aren't many options around his price tag that come with similar upside.
