DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (1/15/20): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on January 15, 2020. Dale Johnson provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

After a few smaller slates, the NBA has blessed us with a massive 10-game slate here on Wednesday.

There are quite a few games featuring lower scoring point totals, but in this day and age of the NBA, there are still plenty of points to go around.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/15/20. You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks. Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Ben Simmons - PG/SF, PHI v. BKN ($8,700)

With Joel Embiid (finger) out for the foreseeable future, Simmons has the reigns of the team and continues to shine on the box score. Embiid had a 30.5 percent usage rate and took 29.6 percent of the team's field goal attempts when on the court. Simmons will be in attack mode as evident by his past few performances without Embiid, including a 24-point, 14-rebound game against the Indiana Pacers on Monday. Simmons faces the Brooklyn Nets who are the worst team against opposing point guards in terms of fantasy basketball. The return of Kyrie Irving has not changed that. Simmons is a nightly triple-double threat and is at a reasonable price tag in this enticing match up.

Malcolm Brogdon - PG/SG, IND @ MIN ($6,700)

Brogdon was dominating earlier in the season before injuries hampered his play time and production. Brogdon finally returned on Monday after his latest ailment and dropped a near triple-double against the Philadelphia 76ers. Brogdon and the Pacers host the Minnesota Timberwolves, who allow the ninth-most DK fantasy points to opposing guards and just gave up a monster triple-double to Oklahoma City Thunder's guard Shai-Gilgeous Alexander. Brogdon does not carry an injury designation into this game and should be fully healthy. Despite all this, Brogdon's price tag has not increased much and remains a solid guard option in this slate.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Carmelo Anthony - SF/PF, POR @ HOU ($6,200)

Anthony will finally play against his former team on Wednesday after just narrowly missing the return when he was initially signed. Although I am a firm believer in the "revenge game", most of this pick is driven by Anthony's recent play and the Houston defense. Anthony accumulated at least 30.0 DK fantasy points in five of his past seven games and actually shoots much better on the road (45.1 percent compared to just 41.7 percent at home). Houston allows the seventh-most field goals made and ninth-most threes made and overall points to opposing teams this year. This is likely due to the Rockets being second in the league in pace. The extra possessions and a homecoming will surely benefit Anthony here.

Davis Bertans - SF/PF, WAS @ CHI ($5,500)

Bertans was an absolute heat wave before his injury, but he is officially back and has a couple games under his belt. Despite having a minutes restriction, he put up an average of 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 threes in just 23.5 minutes per game. DraftKings has the Chicago Bulls ranked dead last against opposing power forwards, giving up the most fantasy points per game to the position this season. The Bulls are also without Wendell Carter Jr. (ankle) who has been their main defensive anchor. It is only a matter of time before Bertans regains his starting position and it is very possible he does so Wednesday.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Nikola Jokic - C, DEN v. CHA ($10,100)

At this point, Jokic has more than shown he is match-up proof. The Clippers were a top-10 defense against opposing centers and Jokic absolutely dominated with 20 points, 15 rebounds and six assists in Sunday's win. Things get much, much easier on Wednesday when the Nuggets host the visiting Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets allow the fourth-most DK fantasy points and the third-best field goal percentage to opposing centers this season. Jokic also scores 6.9 more DK fantasy points at home compared to on the road. Jokic is the top center in this slate, especially with Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) and Anthony Davis (back) scheduled to sit.
